The Focus is a great car for commuting and longer trips. It gets great gas mileage and is very reliable. After having it for three years I don’t think I’ve had to have it fixed other than tires and routine maintenance. It is cheap to operate, and is spacious and comfortable. The only thing I don’t love is that it tends to chew up tires, but this can be remedied with regular rotations. I like that it also looks sporty, especially for a very modest car. I do wish it had some more amenities (touch screen, built in GPS), but what it does have works well. I would recommend this car for anyone, especially those looking for a reliable vehicle who are light on cash. I’ve driven this car for nearly 100,000 miles in 3 years, including nearly a year of a total 104 mile commute. The air is still cold and everything still works. The space is great for a small family just starting, and has hooks for our baby’s car seat.

I bought my 2009 Ford Focus about two years ago. I have had no major issues with the car, nor have I really had any minor issues. It has been a reliable car. I recently moved across the country from Washington to North Carolina. I drove the Focus the whole way over five days, eight-ten hours a day. The car did not have any issues at all, and I have been driving it since. The gas mileage is solid, air conditioning works well, storage space is sufficient. All I have had to maintenance the car with is basic oil changes and a brake fluid change in the two years.
