The Scion xB is a great car for our 3 person family. It provides more cargo and passenger space than it looks like it would. It also gets pretty good gas mileage. It's size is perfect for me at 5'3 but also comfortable for my husband at 6'1. It handles well although a little rough over particularly bumpy roads. I don't notice a lot of road noise either.

The 2015 Ford Focus is an absolute dream to drive on the highway. I am able to get 40 miles to the gallon on a good day, making gas purchases a thing of the past for me. The car is extremely smooth on the road and has a great sound. It also has a surprising amount of leg space in the backseat. I have the hatchback, which is very useful for when I have to transport things that are a little too big for someone with a trunk!
