2002 Ford Mustang - It's alright, some bad design choices.

Exterior trim pieces (the hood scoop and side scoops) are just clipped on plastic that serve no purpose and add nothing to the aesthetic of the car. Not to mention they come off easily once the vehicle has some age. The interior has a cheap feel that as the car ages begins creaking and rattling a lot even when taken care of. The engine performance is good for its time and easy to maintain. Car sounds and handles wells.
Story
I have met quite a few other owners with similar taste in cars just by driving it. You'll have other enthusiasts approach you and talk to you.
Pros
Engine performance (for its time period). Handling is decent. Manual transmission makes it fun to drive. Appearance can be made to look nice but requires work and aftermarket parts.
Cons
Factory appearance, plastic side scoops and hood scoop are ugly and serve no purpose. Factory raised spoiler is also ugly on the car, and it looks better without one. Overall cheap feel to the interior and exterior of the vehicle. The audio system is custom by Ford, and you have to buy a special harness if you want to put in an aftermarket head unit or you will blow the weird factory amps.

2000 Ford Mustang - Probably a great car 10 years ago.

Buying a 10-year-old car like a Mustang is a great way to save money buying a sports car. The car handles well, still looks relatively in-style, and the air conditioner is phenomenal (I couldn't survive these Texas summers without a top-notch A/C system.) The alternator died on me after about a year of daily driving (I used it to get to school, sports practice, and occasionally short rides for social activities), but other than that there hasn't been any major issues.
Story
I will never forget driving out to the lake to watch fireworks on the hood of my car during the summers.
Pros
It's hard to find a used car under 5,000 dollars that is still worth buying, but the quality of this car makes it a great value if you're looking for a temporary ride. The air conditioning is great, the cup holders are good sizes, and the steering is smooth.
Cons
It's a loud car to drive, especially on the interstate; the seats crack after a few years of wear-and-tear; it is very difficult to climb in the backseat; and my windshield eventually started leaking in the rain. It also gets terrible gas mileage.
