Athletic performance, decent fuel economy, and surprising technology make the 2018 Ford Mustang even better. Top down or top up, four or eight cylinders, with or without track weapons, the two-door, rear-drive car soldiers into 2018 with new body panels, a new transmission, available suspension setup, and digital dash. The rental-fleet stalwart V-6 is gone.
Story
Pacific Coast Highway ride, going to the beaches, doing fast laps, racing on the streets, drifts.
Pros
Strong & fuel efficient EcoBoost engine. Performance upgrades. Ford offers a number of performance goodies for the 2017 Mustang. Even the base model can be equipped with upgraded tires. Boasting enhancements such as a sports-tuned suspension and shorter gearing, the EcoBoost Performance package brings an extra degree of driving excitement. Meanwhile, a Torsen limited-slip differential takes the GT model’s handling to the next level. When driving the new 2017 Mustang, you will appreciate its overall comfort. A relaxing driver’s seat makes it a great choice for taking a long road trip. Heate... (more)
Cons
The 2017 Mustang is not the most suitable family vehicle. While there is enough room in the backseat for young children, most teenagers will feel very cramped. If you need to accommodate your family, a muscular sedan such as the Dodge Charger will be a better option. When equipped with the optional performance package, the 2017 Ford Mustang can compete with sports cars that are far more expensive. However, you will experience a bumpier ride. The sports-tuned suspension and low-profile tires allow more road vibrations to enter the cabin. All versions of the new Mustang are rear-wheel driv... (more)

They went back to some of the original design of the Mustang. The doors have the classic shark gill design. The front hood is pointed like a shark head. The rear passenger windows are small and triangular. The taillights are three lights on each side. The air vents are round chrome as well as the instrument panel. It has leather bucket seats. There are no digital dials and no LCD screens. The only thing modern about it is the stereo which is a six-CD changer Shaker 500 with 4 8" woofers that really rock your socks off. You can see the mirrors shake. It just looks and feels a lot like a 1970s Mustang.
Story
I was on a back mountain road and a lady in a Honda thought she could race me. I stayed way out ahead of her, and when I got the straightaway, I blew her doors off.
Pros
The stereo is awesome. The wheels look great. The paint job is rich and deep. The shape of the car is very shark-like. The leather seats are comfortable. The steering is very positive with a 90-degree skid-pad rating. The engine has plenty of torque and a lot of high-end speed as well. I have gotten it to slide sideways a couple of times, and the skid was very flat and easy to manage. No dipping at all.
Cons
Some of the interior is not chrome but plastic. Chrome would have been nicer. The seats don't quite hold the sides of your body in place, so if you are doing any tight turns, you have to hold yourself up. Some lateral support would have been nice. The stereo has a standard phono plugin that I use for my phone. Bluetooth would have been nice. Who uses CDs anymore?

I went to many dealerships in the San Diego area. I liked the Encinitas Ford dealership the most because they were supremely helpful and did not pressure me to buy. I got all my questions answered and they never seemed condescending to me. As a woman, shopping for a car can be a daunting experience. They made me feel very comfortable throughout the entire process.

They were very helpful and helped me find a great used car. They represented the car's history well as well. This is very important to me. Steve was very helpful and even helped get me a lower price after they figured they probably couldn't come down any lower. I went in to replace an older car for my college aged daughter and something roomy like the Escape was my go to car. Steve helped me drive several of them and I finally settled on one. They made it easy and were extremely courteous and kind and easy going the whole way through. It was a real treat since I typically hate dealerships.
