I have a Ford Ranger from 1997, which I purchased used in 2004. It's a very reliable little truck, and I depend on it for completing everyday tasks like driving to the grocery store, to much bigger tasks such as moving from state to state. Living in Arizona and New Mexico, having a good air conditioning system is really important while driving. The A/C in my Ranger has never broken down on me and always provided a nice, refreshingly cold current of air in the cabin. And I find the cloth drivers seat to be pretty comfortable in any weather conditions. My sole complaint about the truck is that because it's rather small and light, it doesn't handle driving in the rain or snow very well and I've had a few close calls due to hydroplaning and skidding out in snowbanks - a problem I've amelio... Story
I enjoyed driving my truck around Santa Fe in the spring time with one of my school friends - we would just cruise around the city during our downtime between studies, or go catch a movie. I'll always value those memories of time I spent with my friend driving around.
Pros
Air Conditioning CD player Automatic Transmission Small enough to fit in compact parking Good highway vehicle
Cons
A little too lightweight for rain and snow driving Only two seats Not much space behind seats

The 2011 Ford Ranger is a dependable and capable small truck. The model that I own is a 4x4 with the 5 speed manual transmission and the 4.0L V6 engine. The quality is very well, there are no rattles with the truck and the build quality is very nice. The color is black which was not my first choice, however options were limited as they discontinued making the truck in 2011. The paint has not faded at all, however the black does show scratches easily which is no fault of Ford.
Story
Taking my truck into the mountains for some off-roading in the snow is always a pleasure. Putting the truck into 4x4 Low and coasting in first gear allows one to get just about anywhere that they please.
Pros
The top positives are the manual transmission; it shifts very well through the gears and the clutch is very user friendly. The 4x4 system works incredibly well and even without modifications it is capable of doing some good off-roading. With modifications I believe the truck could take one to the ends of the earth.
Cons
The only negatives are the gas mileage, averaging around 15 city and 19 highway. This of course is to be expected in a truck, however due to recent advances that Ford has made in turbo-charging the truck engines it is very abysmal as a new F-150 will get better mileage.

They really worked with me to finance this car, when my credit was not so great.
