The only thing I've ever liked about my car is that it at least looks nice. The inside and the outside have a sleek design which don't immediately indicate the poor shape it's in. The car is comfortable during long drives and has ample trunk space as well as a large backseat. The car has always had poor heating which worsens with each year. After five years it has reached the point where flushing out the heater core does nothing to help. The brakes went out, transmission went out, power steering is starting to go out, and the coolant evaporates out completely once every couple of weeks. Additionally, it makes a horrible squealing noise while driving and the gas mileage is very low. The car has hiccups when accelerating, the brakes still don't feel right, and it's hard to turn at times. I do not feel safe driving it and will not be doing so for the remainder of the winter. The car will be sold as soon as I can find a buyer, or we'll just send it to a junkyard.

The first thing I noticed about my car at the dealership was the color - Black. I like the body design of the '96-'97 Taurus and fits my personality. I don't know about all LX's, but mine has great climate control, a JBL Audio System with a 6-disc CD changer, and a Sunroof. It also has automatic seats and rear defrost. It has a very capable DOHC 3.1 V6 engine that when combined with the transmission isn't too jumpy, but not sluggish either. I've only had to have regular maintenance for the vehicle, such as alternator, brakes, and the other little things. Even with 179,000 miles, this car is still doing great. I would recommend this car to anyone, especially if you don't want to spend the money on a new or almost new car.
