2007 Ford Taurus - Comfortable sedan with good gas mileage
This is a comfortable vehicle for a family. I have been averaging about 27 mpg on the highway. The looks are kind of generic as with most cars now. Acceleration is pretty good for a sedan, braking and handling are excellent. Options are good, but replacing the factory stereo requires an expensive conversion kit, and a lot of work. The stock stereo sounds good, and would be adequate for most people; however it has a single CD player and no options for external input or playing MP3s.
The interior is very high quality with shoulder seat belts for the back seats. The trunk is HUGE by today's standards, and the back seats fold down for extra space. I have hauled 6 foot boards in the car with the trunk lid shut with no problem.
Pros
Pretty good gas mileage
Good acceleration for a sedan
good braking and handling
Cons
Factory stereo hard and expensive to replace with an aftermarket model.
No key-less entry, and only one external door lock
2004 Ford Taurus - Great car overall.
The trim below the doors holds moisture, causing rust, but overall, the car is a great family car. It is safe and very comfortable for long rides or daily commutes. The body construction is solid, and it has comfortable seats. This is a great car for the money.
Story
We took it to the beach and the trip was fun. We had people in every seat but there was plenty of space.
Pros
It's quiet, smooth and responsive. It's comfortable enough to take road trips with everyone riding comfortably with an exceptional amount of trunk space for luggage, etc. I especially like the six-disc changer as I enjoy listening to music in a variety of genres. I have never had to do major repairs to the vehicle beyond regular maintenance, which I still found to be very affordable. In winter weather the car does great on snow and ice, the front wheel drive makes it handle incredibly and has enough power to keep traction in all conditions. I have always felt safe having my children in the... (more)
Cons
The looks of this car are not very sporty or cool looking. I describe it as a grandma car because of its standard four-door sedan look. The paint did flake in places leaving the car vulnerable to rust, partly because of the climate and road conditions where I drive. At times during cold weather the car had to be jump started with a dead battery, a new battery always corrected the issue but had to be replaced in my opinion more often than should have been necessary. The leather seats although easy to clean did get cold in wintertime it is a slight discomfort.

The salespeople are more friendly than pushy.

Found a decent car at a good price. Probably the best deal I'll ever get from a car dealership.
