Used Honda Accord for Sale in Des Moines, IA

This car is a work horse. I have put very little money into it and it just keeps going. It's 19 years old and has 117,000 miles on it because it was owned by my grandmother prior to my ownership and she rarely drove. But I think that it could easily make it to 200,000 without major repair. I like the interior too, I feel it's sort of like a cockpit behind the wheel.

I like the size, performance, and visibility of my 2001 Honda Accord. It has larger windows (side and rear) than many of the newer cars on the road, which gives good visibility and enhances the safety of my driving experience. Although it is nearly 20 years old and we bought it used at an auction, it has been pretty dependable in the two years we've had it, and has only needed minor repairs that we can do ourselves. The moon roof is a nice feature that allows me to cool the car down quickly if it's been sitting in the sun. The lockable glove box is a nice feature for when I need to leave something valuable in the car and out of sight. The trunk is surprisingly spacious for a car that looks small. The Accord handles well compared to similar-sized Ford and Chevrolet vehicles I have driven. It has good power when accelerating, and responsive steering and braking. I also like the color: red, but not fire engine red. The leather interior is easy to clean up after I use the car to haul dirt or gardening supplies in it. The dual-compartment center console between the two front seats is also a nice feature - there is room in the larger one to store an entire GPS navigation system with stand and cord, or even a purse, and the smaller one has enough room to put change, a wallet, a phone, etc. The only problem with the design of this car is the sun visor - rather than the whole thing being extendable, it has an extendable slide-out plastic tab on the side, which is much smaller than the rest of the visor and doesn't block much sun when I'm driving north at sunset.
