1991 Honda Civic -
I purchased this vehicle a few months back off Craigslist for $3300. I have had to put some work into it, but it has been just routine items and nothing major. The build quality is excellent and the car is a joy to drive. It is awesome on gas averaging about 33mpg.

It was fun driving it around town with my buddy Steven and going over the speed bumps trying to catch air.

2004 Honda Civic - Want and need stability? Well this is the perfect car.
I can't tell you how many times this vehicle has saved me from multiple expenditures that arose with other vehicles I previously owned. My 2004 Honda Civic has take me all over the U.S. on road trips and/or vacation with almost little or no maintenance or repairs. I only change oil and filter, and this car drives non stop for hours at a time. I have saved well over thousands of dollars in gas and repairs by owning this car. The inside is not too luxurious but to me that is not a problem. It is simple yet derivable in all road condition without much noise from outside. I love the easy parts replacement—if you really have to and the easy engine compartment location and how parts fit well together without much complication or special tools needed. The car has five seats, but you can't hav... (more)

The car has five seats, but you can't have more than two large adults in the back. The car drives smooth and has stability control and ABS, which is nice on wet road condition. You fill it up once with gas and drive all over for more than a week before requiring a refill. To me, this car has never let me down from point A to point B in the four years I have owned it.
Few years ago, when I bought my beauty of a car, I took it out for the weekend to see how well it drives and performs. I kept driving when the low gas meter came on, and I wanted to see how far I can drive till I need to refill. I drove and drove for almost 75 miles, then the car started shaking, and it finally stopped. I managed to pull over the road in a safe space and park my car there. Stu... (more)

I kept driving when the low gas meter came on, and I wanted to see how far I can drive till I need to refill. I drove and drove for almost 75 miles, then the car started shaking, and it finally stopped. I managed to pull over the road in a safe space and park my car there. Stupid me, I didn't realize what I have done, due to too much excitement. I was left in the middle of nowhere far away from my home. My phone was not charged, and I could not call anyone to help me. There were no vehicles on the road, and it was late evening. I locked my car, and I had to walk for almost 80 minutes when I finally reached a gas station that the person inside allowed me to make a free call. I managed to call my brother, and he brought me two gallons of gas from home. Boy, was my brother mad at me, and he was not happy because he had to work early in the morning. I did learn something important—that this car will still get me somewhere safe if I get the low gas light coming on. I can still drive well over 50 miles to find a gas station.
You don't have to keep filling this car up with gas. If you fill it up once, you can literally drive all over the city and freeway, and you still have enough for few more trips all over again. The parts are super easy to replace, and you don't need special tools for it. You can find the manual online, and you can pretty much replace most parts yourself. The parts are also readily available and easy to find also they are very affordable. Since this is a Japanese car, I'll guarantee you will not experience readability issues as long as you change the oil and filter and spark plugs, as told i... (more)

The cargo is large enough to fit a lot of items. The engine is pretty smooth when driving on freeway or in the city. It will pass smog here in California without any issues whatsoever. The resale value is amazing on this Civic. You can pretty much get 80 percent of your money on this car after you've owned if for few years and still there are buyers willing to buy it.
Now, of course, there are some negative to this car as well. One for sure is the inside space. The seats are very small, and there is not much leg room in the back of the seats. You can't have more than two adults in the back at any given time. The automatic windows after a few years will start to fail, and it will be hard to get the window back up after rolling them down. The engine is also not very big, so when driving on high hills or thru the Rockies, you will need to move to the right and drive slower and let other vehicles pass you. The inside of the car is not fancy at all. There ar... (more)

The inside of the car is not fancy at all. There are cup holders and a personal item holder. There is an old CD player and radio with no option of plugin an USB cable or player for your music, unless it is on CD. The car is also not one of the safest in a case of collision because it is very light, and it's made from light metal that makes the car a little dangerous in a high-speed collision. At high speeds, the wheel starts shaking a little, and you need to make sure you have both your hands firm on the steering wheel to keep the car in line.
