Overall I like my 08 Honda Civic DX a lot. It's not an expensive car but it does its job, it has never broken down in the middle of the road or needed any expensive repairs in the 10 years that I've owned it. I've put over 190,000 miles on the car and it's still going strong. The interior is on the average side but it has all the things you need such a middle compartment, sun visors, glove compartment, etc. One thing that is bad about the interior is that I've had to replaced the visor 3x, in the 10 years I've owned it. It would just fall off and I read somewhere that it may be due to a defect in the type of visor it has. Exterior-wise, the car seems very plastic and not so durable. For instance, my front bumper can come off easily and I would have to nudge it back in. The body of the ... (more)
Story
I drove from Los Angeles to San Francisco taking the Pacific Coast Highway multiple times. A lot of memories with this car and good times with friends in it.
Pros
Great value car. Last years, no major repairs needed (10+ years for myself). Sporty look. Great fuel efficiency. Good safety rating.
Cons
Bad sun visors. Brake pads go out fairly quick. Plastic feeling exterior.

2009 Honda Civic - The Honda Civic LX-S is a reliable, fuel efficient car that has a reasonable price for its quality..

I have a 2009 Honda Civic LX-S. This car was the last car I ever considered buying just because a lot of people drive it. But I gave it a test drive after test driving all the top vehicles I wanted, and as soon as I sat in the drivers seat, I fell in love. The price I paid was also a good deal. I paid under $17,000.
Story
Driving my car cross country with my husband was one of my best time driving the car. It saved us a lot of money because it was so fuel efficient.
Pros
The bucket seats were comfortable, black interior similar to an SI models. Everything felt comfortable from the steering wheel size to the hands reach of the radio. It drove low to the ground, handles turns smoothly, and it was a good size car for me. It is reliable as I was able to drive it cross country 4x (California to N Carolina) with no problems at all.
Cons
What I didn't like is the exterior black side panels started to peel (due to the sun exposure). I thought it may have been the auto shop that I have brought it in to get fixed after an accident, but then I have noticed that other Hondas had the same peel texture too, and this was after three years of owning it. Also, after five years, I have noticed the exteriors rubber lining in the front window and all around the car has started to dry extensively to a point that it has cracked up and came off. Also, a friend of mine also bought a new car the same time (KIA optima), and the features it h... (more)
