2005 Honda CR-V - Reliable, but starts to break down after 7 years

The vehicle is a good family small SUV. It's decent and gets the job done, commuting to soccer practice and the like. And just like that, it's also somewhat bland and unassuming. You'll have no problems with it (for the first several years), but there's also a lot to be desired. It's just basically your plain old reliable small family vehicle. The quality is pretty basic, but it holds up well. You're getting what you pay for with the CR-V, not in a bad way.
Story
My CR-V has made it back and forth from college to home many times and has stored tons of stuff along the way! I wouldn't really trust another vehicle for both qualities.
Pros
Honda is very reliable as a whole. You know you'll be safe in this car. The battery and motor run well. The rear legroom is pretty good. Overall, no complaints for the first several years. Pretty good gas mileage too in the beginning. Very easy to fix whenever something does need repair.
Cons
After 7 years, everything breaks down at once! The gas mileage REALLY starts to go down at this point. Motor, battery, everything really starts to go around the 7 year mark / 120,000 miles driven. Also, the car is just quite bland and boring, overall, but this may be perfectly fine for most people.

2013 Honda CR-V - Extremely practical and reliable.

I am really pleased with this vehicle purchase. This car is very stylish and has all the upgrades I needed. I love the back-up camera, moon roof and ample storage space. This is probably the most reliable car that I have ever owned. I often get complements on it from friends when they ride in it.
Story
I took this car on a trip to the mountains of North Carolina once. It handled really well on those windy, gravely roads that can be hard to navigate.
Pros
This car get very good gas mileage. It is also a very comfortable car. It has a lot of storage in the back trunk/hatch area, and I can even move relatively large furniture. It handles really well, and I find it to be very responsive while driving. I think that it has one of the best back-up cameras that I have seen on a car. Crystal clear picture that even has the "trajectory" if you are backing up and turning. Really, this car is a great vehicle.
Cons
It does seat only five, but that is ample for me. For someone looking for more seating, this is not the car for you. I don't believe the offer any third-row option, but that was not really important for me.

Good service when buying, and they work on the car quickly when there is a problem. Like most other dealerships, they send you crap in the mail, etc. But not bad - good service and friendly attitude.
