My Hyundai Elantra just passed the 100,000 mile mark, and I've had no major problems with it. It rides smooth and quiet, the seats are comfortable, and the back seat has plenty of legroom for my kids. I really like the body style of the Elantra as well as other vehicles in the Hyundai family.

We purchased this car when it was six years old with 17,000 miles on it. The interior was in good shape, but there were a few dings and dents on the exterior. I'm 6'2" and 250 lbs. On long trips over three hours, the car was not comfortable at all. It had few problems at first, but they began to appear at around 40,000 miles. The brake pads wore out, then the plugs had to be changed at 45,000. I'm starting to get the feeling that the original parts weren't that great. Next the radiator developed severe leaks and needed to be replaced at 56,000 miles. The engine is running ok, but one of the transmission cooling lines developed a leak. At this point we were starting to worry about taking this car on long trips. At 70,000 miles or so, the heater core began to leak and needed to be replaced. At 82,000 miles, a lady ran a stop sign, and I hit her SUV at about 20 MPH. The air bag didn't deploy. The final straw was at 87,000 miles. The car would not pass inspection, because the passenger side airbag seat sensor failed. Cost to repair? Four weeks and $875. I would not recommend this vehicle.
