The 2014 Jeep only rated at 180 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque, but Jeep makes up for that by giving you a bunch of choices on the rest of the drivetrain. If you don’t want an all-wheel-drive SUV, you can get the Compass with your choice of six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. That’s a real automatic not a CVT. If you want AWD and the six-speed manual transmission, you can have that too. If you want an automatic transmission and AWD, you get an awesome nine-speed unit.

Lots of features make for a comfortable ride.
This vehicle is the most comfortable I've ever owned. Living in northern Michigan, the thing I find most appealing is the heated seats. I remotely start the Jeep while I'm still in the house, and by the time I go out to the garage, the Jeep is warmed up and ready to go. There are different controls for both front seats, so the passenger can set their level of seat warmth, or even turn it off if desired. The Jeep has fuel-saving feature in which it shuts off at stop lights and restarts seamlessly when the gas pedal is depressed. Seats are comfortable, and the ride is sure and reassuring, even on icy roads.
