1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee - Good car but not great technology.
This SUV has been pretty good and would be a great vehicle if there weren't issues with the computer and electronics. I have over 250,000 miles on it. When it's working right, it still drives great. I have used it as a local get around vehicle and used to commute to a job that was a 6-hour round trip drive. The suspension has always been good, and the ride is always smooth. The biggest issue I've had is with the computer. When they go bad because they are remanufactured parts, it's hit or miss when you have to get a new one. I have had 4 computers, and two of them worked longer than the warranty. When the computer goes bad, it throws codes for about 5 different sensors. The first time around, I changed out all the sensors, and then within a week or so, I had the same stalling issues th... (more)
Story
Long road trips that we had plenty of room to stretch out in even with a bunch of women and their over packing for a weekend trip.
Pros
Sturdy and solid. Lots of cargo room. Comfortable seating and seat settings for even a short person. Still runs smooth with high mileage. Great handling in snow and wind. I feel safe in it.
Cons
Doesn't have great gas mileage. This model does have some electronics issues that have no recall as of yet.
2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee - Great small family vehicle.
This is an overall great vehicle to own. It has withstood many long trips throughout the years and has not had any major mechanical problems. As any other vehicle, with time, we have had to replace some parts and components that have worn out due to normal use. However, with the regular maintenance and scheduled oil changes, everything has always worked perfectly. It is a vehicle I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable ride that can tackle difficult tasks and still be efficient and look good.
It is comfortable for a small family. We are a family of four and have not had any problem feeling comfortable with it. But, we are thinking about upgrading to a larger vehicle only because we frequently have out of town family visiting and, at that point, space does bec... (more)
Story
This vehicle has been in our family for almost 10 years and we've it has taken us to some of our favorite family trips around the US without ever giving us any trouble.
Pros
There are many things I love about this vehicle. The very top thing I like is how safe I feel driving it. Being a mother of two, safety is a big issue for me and our Jeep Grand Cherokee has definitely covered that part. Another thing I love about it is how smooth it is even for a mid to large size vehicle.
Cons
The one top negative about our particular Jeep is the fabric interiors. Having kids, the difficulty of trying to keep it clean is too much of a hassle that leather interiors would prevent.

2011 Jeep Cherokee - The Car Place Granger
The dealer working there was wonderful and completely changed my opinion of the service department. He gave me a reasonable discount on the retail price and was very friendly and kind to me. The dealer knew what he was talking about and I look forward to working with him again in the future!
