I love that my vehicle is very spacious and heavy duty. I love that we can load our bikes and canoes to go out to the lake. I love that we can bring our dog with us to the park and laid the kids back in the back or on the roof. I love that we can take it driving to the beach one day and then drive through a storm in the mountains up Lake Tahoe the next. Some of the things I don't like about the vehicle is that it is a little heavy and can wear on tires. We've had some trouble with the air conditioning and coolant systems in the Texas heat. Other than that no other car transmission troubles.
Story
The family and I went up to Lake Tahoe for a picnic thinking it was going to be a nice cool sunny clear sky day. After about twenty minutes at the park it started to poor rain, then hail then lightning and thunder hit. I had my baby in the stroller, my daughter was walking up from the lake with her dad. So as soon as we saw a ball of hail drop we all started running to the Jeep. My husband had... (more)
Pros
The Jeep is spacious and heavy duty. It can carry large equipment or haul a trailer. It is safe and can withstand various weather climates. We can use it for all kinds of outdoor activities or road trips.
Cons
The air conditioner and coolant systems are defective. We have had to change the tires and breaks various time due to oil and break wear. We have trouble with breaks more often if an alignment is not completed which can cause wear on the tires faster then usual.

2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee - I think the Jeep is a reliable vehicle

The 2005 Jeep is nice because it is a larger vehicle, but not so large that it becomes difficult to handle. We have put over 200,000 miles on it, and it has only required basic maintenance. I like that it is 4 wheel drive and I feel safe even when the roads are bad. It is nice that I can fit all three children in the back seat, although it is a tight fight with two car seats and a booster. Overall, it has been dependable. It has a nice design and set up. Inside, the dash allows you to see the outside temperature. It gives messages to let you know if doors were left open. I also like that it has automatic headlights, so you do not have to remember to turn them on and off.
Story
When trying to get home, there was a detour. I thought a back road would be a short cut and took it despite it being labeled a seasonal road. I was 7 months pregnant with two small children and driving down a narrow dirt road that progressively narrower. I was so worried that I would end up stuck, but we made it though.
Pros
I like the fact that the windows and doors have child locks. I have no worries that my children will attempt to open doors while I drive, and they can't irritate me with the windows. I have not experienced any problems with the vehicle that were not related to use.
Cons
Repairs can be costly. We had a failed rear differential, and because of the model and year, the part was twice as much as what it costs on similar Jeeps. Also, the hydraulic lift on my rear hatch does not like to work when it is cold out. It makes putting groceries in the vehicle difficult.
