It is unreliable.
I was drawn to the vehicle immediately, and while there are things about it that I love, there are things about it that I don't like so much as well. For one, it is unreliable. I have spent so much money on repairs for this car. It seems like something is always going wrong with it. There are definitely positive aspects to this vehicle. It is very roomy -- I can fit lots of large musical equipment into the back and my two young children's' car seats fit into the back. I hope that this car stays up and running now that I have made a few repairs, but if not, I think it will be time for a trade-in. Overall, this vehicle has some great points, but it is unreliable, and I would not recommend it.

Fun to drive, but with problems
I enjoy driving this vehicle. It is good for hauling, has plenty of room for passengers, and still is relatively small and easy to handle for an SUV. It is great in all terrains. It does have its downsides, however. This vehicle has a known issue with the "gas cap". The check engine light comes on saying the gas cap is a problem, but it is not the gas cap at all. Looking up the issue online, it seems there are all kinds of issues it could -actually- be, and it is very hard to pinpoint. The vehicle is still operational, but there is an annoying beep that will occasionally go off while driving. There is also a known issue with the engines on this make/model. There is not an engine created for Jeep Liberty that is reliable. My mechanic has warned me that they are known for breaking down because of this particular issue, and that I would be better off with a different vehicle altogether. But my vehicle has over 145,000 miles on it and still seems to be doing ok, considering. Even with the mechanic's warning, I don't plan on replacing it soon. And then, of course, because it is a bigger vehicle, the gas mileage is pretty bad. That is to be expected from an SUV, but still, it is a drawback.
