This is a solid entry level to the Jeep brand. After approximately 25,000 miles and a little over a year's worth of driving, I have had no issues with this vehicle whatsoever and still actively enjoy driving it. The cargo area is spacious enough for my needs (family of two active adults with two dogs), and I've even been able to fit a full- sized bicycle in the back! It gets decent enough gas mileage, even on twisty New England back roads. The interior has a sturdy, well-made feel that I appreciate. It isn't fancy, but doesn't look cheap, either, and I don't have any problems cleaning my dash.
Story
I went from a Fiat 500 to a Jeep Patriot. Because they are both Dodge/ Jeep/ Chrysler/ Fiat products, I was able to get my Patriot in the same green as my Fiat, but what a change in size!
Pros
I find the seats incredibly comfortable and really appreciate that I can elevate the driver's seat- at 5'4" this is a really big assist for me. I also paid for the auto-start feature, which I have never had before, and now can't imagine living without, especially in the height of winter/ summer- having the vehicle ready for me in extreme weather is really, really lovely. The heated seats are also very responsive--- some of the quickest to warm up that I've ever owned.
Cons
Very few cons to this vehicle, really. I would have liked an in- dash GPS, but that would have meant an entirely different trim level, which was a bother. The little "pookah" or cubby in the front, before the shifter, is pretty pointless. The cup holders are a slightly funny size and don't always work with every mug out there. On the whole, though, I'm perfectly happy with this vehicle.

The Jeep Patriot was my choice because it was the least expensive Jeep model. I needed a 4x4 vehicle for the harsh winters here in the Northeast. The vehicle has been great so far in winter weather. I chose manual transmission and have had a few instances of the vehicle stalling out on me at stop lights. The Patriot is the only jeep model aside from the wrangler that still has the classic boxy design that I prefer. I got the sport and it didn't come with any frills except for power windows and a CD player. The backseat is spacious enough but can't fit 3 car seats. The trunk is roomy enough for my needs. It's powerful enough but could have more upkick. I love the sound of the engine roaring when I hit the gas. It goes up hill very easily. The cabin and engine filters need to be changed ... (more)
Story
The first time I drove it straight through a foot of snow in my driveway was awesome.
Pros
Powerful, 4x4, boxy design, fun to drive
Cons
Small, needs new filters frequently, brakes are wearing out early on, no frills, stalls sometimes, gas guzzler
