Loyalty and the Jeep Patriot
When it comes to quality workmanship, I certainly found it when I bought my 2008 Jeep Patriot. Since I was already a Jeep fan (having previously owned a Jeep Cherokee 4-wheel-drive) I was already leaning toward purchasing another SUV, just maybe not as heavy duty as the 4WD Cherokee had been. My Jeep Patriot is stealthy with its limited edition shimmering midnight black paint and all black trim on the exterior. It gets much better gas mileage than the aforementioned Cherokee did (24 mpg average versus 15 mpg), and runs very smooth to this day. It is a manual transmission, which makes for quick acceleration as well as better gas mileage on the highway. The cargo room and configuration can't be beat for this size SUV. It seats 5 adults comfortably, and can carry 5 large suitcases plus travel bags in the cargo area. By the same token, I have transported a full stage of band gear in my Patriot, so it is definitely a versatile vehicle. I have put well over 100,000 miles on my Patriot and plan to hang onto it for another 100,000 miles. In my 35+ years of car ownership, this has definitely been the most dependable vehicle I have ever owned, and if I had to buy a vehicle tomorrow I would buy another Jeep Patriot all over again.

Decent, reliable, comfortable
By far the worst feature is the amount of gas it goes through, and the acceleration speed. I was told it ran on one continuous gear, and it doesn't speed up very fast because of it. I do like that it has lots of light features and cuts through rain easily. It is good for terrain like beaches and rocky roads. It doesn't have as much storage as I'd like for driving around the city, especially in regards to things like textbooks I have to haul around, but does have good storage if you were to take it on a road trip and have all the seats in the back down. Overall I am pretty pleased with it, but I think it could use better acceleration. If I were to buy a new Jeep product it would most likely be a Wrangler instead. I don't like that the Patriot has a hard top. It would be good for snow and winter, but I live on a beach so it turns the car into an oven. Another thing I don't like is that it takes forever for the air conditioning to blow out, it shoots air out of defrosting vents and only after a good minute or so does it actually come out of the other vents.

The salesman I worker with was very nice, patient and helpful. He stayed an hour late after closing (in the pouring rain) to make sure I got everything I needed and was leaving there happy.

We negotiated an amazing lease price for our vehicle. We told our dealer exactly what we wanted to pay and he made it happen over the phone. We came and signed the paperwork and brought the car home.
