Since they stopped making the Toyota FJ Cruiser, this is the only true off-road vehicle out there. This is not a fancy vehicle, it is a work vehicle. This vehicle is made to get into the outback and get back home again. Fun to drive, just not on the highway. A vehicle which doe what it I supposed to do.

There are a lot of add on options available for off road driving and the Jeep is easy to work on if you like to do that sort of thing. The air conditioning is excellent which is important for my wife. We have taken the Jeep on some moderately rated off-road use and have never felt at risk or uncomfortable. There are some negatives for every day use. The fuel mileage is not good and when combined with a small fuel tank the driving range is not very far. The ride is not much to speak of on the highway when at high speeds. Also, with the rag top the wind noise is pretty loud.
