I purchased my 2011 Kia Optima in 2014 with a little over 40K miles. I loved how the car looked and I was hoping that I would be able to save on fuel consumption by switching to this car from my Jeep Liberty. In the first 2 years I had almost no issues with the car. Then about a year ago, my break pads needed replacing and I had issues with my steering wheel. Then this year we noticed that I am losing oil rapidly, although no leaks could be identified. There was also a major recall on this model that would require possible replacement of the car's engine. I just had my car checked yesterday and it seems okay. The car itself is still very beautiful, although the leather has started showing signs of wear and tear. Overall, my car is in great shape. I would not purchase this car aga... (more)
Story
I remember when I went to my son's school and I would get great compliments about my car from the principle. It felt good know that I have a beautiful car!
Pros
This car comes at a very affordable price, I purchased mine just a couple of years old with a little over 40K miles. I paid 17K for it at the time. The front seating has both cooling and heating options, while I also have a heated steering wheel. I have beautiful leather interior. The car has a very smooth and elegant design. It feels like as if I was driving a much more expensive car.
Cons
The heated steering wheel broke after 2 years and I cannot afford to get it fixed. I had issues with the breaks and with engine. My car has constant oil loss and they are not able to identify any leaks, The car has limited storage capacity and it is not ideal for bigger families or for people who like the outdoors.

I have owned many brands of cars yet, owning a KIA Optima has stood at the top of my list for the best vehicle purchase to date. The car fits me completely, inside and out. The best features of this vehicle are the design/look of luxury crossed with stealthiness from every angle. The same luxury look is carried to the interior, with white stitched leather seats, electronic functions to meet every need, controls that are simple, and comfort that makes you want to drive longer. 60K miles in a little over 3 years of ownership and I have not had a single maintenance issue. Over the years I continue to receive complements on the look of the vehicle and questions on how I like the ride. This single purchase has now turned my family into KIA owners, as we purchased a KIA Forte for our son... (more)
Story
After my purchase in 2013, I drove the vehicle to work and to church for the first time. Both a co-worker, and two church friends loved the vehicle. SO much so that they too within a 3 month span purchased the same vehicle. My-co-worker bought the same model, in charcoal, for her and a hybrid version for her husband. I should have asked for commission!
Pros
My favorite features include the comfort of driving, the stability on the road, the tight steering of the wheel (providing very nice turning radius and capability on turns). This car is quick! I can drive slow (normal) in ECO mode, however I enjoy feeling the turbo instantly. The panoramic sunroof is also a favorite. I love the sunlight and I love the fresh air, so the extra windows provide a perfect match. The cherry on top for me is the chrome detail and rims that match the exterior design perfectly. The quality of work is exceptional, comparing my previous purchases only. The 2013 K... (more)
Cons
The only thing that I can say negative is the rear quarter panels seem to have a vague yellow tint in the paint. I only notice this color when I am up close to the vehicle and surveying.

I was able to inquire about the vehicle online before having to visit the showroom. This is a volume dealer, they found exactly what I was looking for since they have minimal inventory on the lot. I purchased the car from a female who was my age & very personable. The dealership was within a few miles of my house. I never felt hounded upon there & it was easy to walk away until they satisfied my deal.

The salesperson that I purchased my car from was female & my age. The dealership is a volume dealer meaning that they could get any new Kia that I wanted. The dealership was within 2 miles from my house. I didn't feel hounded upon when visiting this dealer. I was able to inquire online about a new car before visiting the showroom.
