I only have owned the 2009 Kia Optima for approximately 3 weeks. I love the look of the car, it handles beautifully. When we first purchased the car it was having issues with the transmission, it was having a lot of difficulty down shifting when you reached about 20 miles per hour. It was quite an easy fix though, just needed a software upgrade. It gets 32 mpg highway, which I think is pretty amazing. It came with Sirius radio installed, which my kids love. My kids also like that there is a fold down table top in the middle seat in the rear, with two cup holders. The trunk is pretty spacious, the back seats can fold down to allow trunk space, if needed. It has tilt steering wheel, anti lock brakes, power windows and power locks.
Story
We do not have any real memorable or fun stories yet with the car, we just purchased it about three weeks ago. I hope to make lots of fun or memorable stories with the Optima though.
Pros
Like I said, I love the look of the car, it has a more sleek look than most mid size cars. It handles very well, the gas mileage is awesome. There is tons of leg room in the front seats, Seats are comfortable and very adjustable to your specifications. It came Equipped with the Sirius radio, there is a station for everyone. The middle seat in the back folds down to create a table top with two cup holders. The trunk is quite spacious, if more is needed the back seat will fold down.
Cons
The most negative thing about the 2009 Kia Optima that we purchased was the need to get the software upgraded. My kids do complain about the back seat being a little cramped but I have three teenagers.

2015 Kia Optima - Kia Optima, a little disappointing.

This car looks great, it has plenty off room inside for five people. It is comparable to the Chevy Malibu in many ways. However, the Kia Optima does not do well in snow. There was a couple of inches of snow soon after we bought this car and we found out quickly just how bad the car was in snow. It took us three hours to move the car about 150 yards in three inches of snow. The tires would spin and spin, but no forward motion. With a push from behind the car would move but with tires spinning the car would slide sideways, it was maddening. d not recommend this car to anyone living in a climate where there is snow and ice in the winter.
Story
We attended a social event and when arriving many other people at the event complemented us on the appearance of the car. It is a good looking car for a four door sedan.
Pros
The Kia Optima gets good gas mileage for that class of car, about 30 MPG on the highway and 22 MPG in town. The feature that sold us on this car was the 100,000 bumper to bumper warranty. We figured that if the company was willing to stand behind their product to that extent we could feel confident we were getting a great car.
Cons
The car does not do well in snow and ice. Not recommended for climates where snow and ice are an issue.

I had purchased a 2007 Sorento new and had excellent service at this dealership. Loved the look of the Soul and since I didn't have kids to tow anymore went back and turned in my car for a new Soul.
