2000 Lincoln MKZ - Nice Vehicle
I previously owned a 2000 Lincoln MKZ LS V6 Sedan. I was very happy with the vehicle. It was very comfortable. It was also very attractive. I was able to seat 5 people comfortably. The car got around 19 miles to the gallon. The vehicle had 4 nicely sized doors that were roomy enough to allow most people to fit easily into the vehicle. The 3.0 Liter, V6 engine allowed the car to have nice pick up and was speedy on the highway. Despite the fact that the vehicle was somewhat larger than others, it still had good maneuverability, It had a responsive automatic transmission. This vehicle was also made in the United States. The climate controls and radio were easy to access. During the time I owned the vehicle, I did not have any unexpected maintenance issues. I did my regular oil changes, re... (more)
Story
We had a good time driving it from Florida up to Niagara Falls.
Pros
The vehicle was attractive and comfortable. My vehicle did not require any major, unexpected repairs. The car was made in the United States. The resale value on the car was not bad. Engine size made for pretty decent pick up and the car seemed very good when maneuvering.
Cons
Although the inside of the vehicle was comfortable, I wish they would have used wood on the interior instead of mostly plastic. I would have had slightly better mile per gallon in the gasoline tank. I did need to attempt to speak with Ford regarding a warranty item and found them difficult to reach and somewhat unresponsive.
2005 Lincoln MKZ - What a sporty vehicle.
My wife bought this car used. I wanted a Cadillac, but when she test drove this one, she fell in love with it. I found that it handles well. It is OK in the snow if you are not going far with its all-wheel drive. The best part of this vehicle is its creature comforts. The heated and air-conditioned leather seats are so nice. You know when you wear shorts in the summer but stick to the leather seats. Not with A/C going through the seats. Everything is electric and automatic. This is good, but we have had to replace the battery when we bought it and one other time. Small price to pay for all the amenities. The sun-roof is nice and have had no maintenance problems with it. We have owned it since 2008. Great purchase and would get another used one in a heart beat.
Story
Teaching my kid how to drive in what he called the pimp car or the "stinkin Lincoln"! He loved to be seen in the vehicle as we cruised all over getting his time in.
Pros
A/C seats and heated seats, which are the norm now. All-wheel drive. Truck is huge for carrying anything. Back seats and front are roomy. Sporty look.
Cons
Anything in the Northeast is starting to rust. Should have oiled the chassis at about 8-10 years. The front end pushes oil out from time to time. It has never become low, and we have the garage check it yearly. Fords seem to be prone to this.
