I bought this car in 2006 and finally traded it in in 2013. It had close to 200,00 miles by the time it reached the end of my ownership, and when I sold it, I was told that the mechanics of the car were still in excellent condition and I would've gotten even more trade-in value had the body been in better shape (my fault that it wasn't). This car survived several years of commuting 2+ hours a day to school, as well as commutes to work and several 8+ hour drives for vacation. The only real issues I ever had with the car were the brakes, and even then I was just replacing brake pads. The car survived going into a ditch in a winter accident, a few bumps on a college campus, and the general wear and tear that a 20-something will put on a vehicle without necessarily providing it with the gr... Story
This car was the one I drove all through my early 20s. My friends and I always chose my car to take late-night drives around the city or to the park. For some reason my car was the elected vehicle every time and I have a lot of good memories in the car as a result.
Pros
The thing I liked the best about this car was its durability. Admittedly I did not always take the best care of the interior and exterior of the car, but despite that the internal workings of the car were well-maintained and as a result were very long-lasting. I never had any major issues or repair work that needed to be done - I can't recall any painfully expensive work that had to be done on the car over its lifespan. The car was rarely in the shop, especially in my first years of owning it, except for general tune up (oil changes, brake pads, new tires when needed). The ride on the car ... (more)
Cons
After a while, I began to view the color of the car as a negative. A white car dirties more easily even than my current black vehicle and any little scratch or dent seemed much more obvious. Over time, I also found the sound system lackluster - I did have a CD player and a radio, but the sound system did not have a jack with which to connect an IPod or smartphone, so I wasn't able to play music from my IPod or use a service like Spotify in my car even though I had the other technology needed to do so. I also did not like that the car had manual door locks and windows - that was the main as... (more)

This was a great first vehicle for me to learn how to drive in. It was fast enough for a 16 year old, had plenty of get-up-and-go. It was very dependable, never had any issues with the engine and it got pretty good gas mileage, even when I got the total mileage on the car up past 170,000. It handled like a dream, I loved going on cruises as a kid and I could whip it around the corners of the back country roads as good as any rally car. It had a great style in my opinion - I kept the car in great condition with regular maintenance, and even though it was over 10 years old, people would still ask me if it was a new car. The best thing of all, I have full confidence in the car's safety features. I was t-boned by a drunk driver right square in the middle of the driver's door at about 40 MP... (more)
Story
I loved drifting around corners in this bad boy when I was younger. Always remember going down to the river and popping the sunroof opening and enjoying the cruise. I had a pair of 15' subwoofers in the trunk, and I'll never forget listening to those things bang back there and watching my rear view and side mirrors shake back and forth with the vibrations. Great times!
Pros
Great safety features for a sedan Cool, relevant styling Dependable motor and engine Great gas mileage Superior handling Comfortable, stylish interior
Cons
Went through 2 serpentine belts in the lifetime of the car AC system was lacking at times Engine was very compact and mashed together. Can be hard to work on by yourself sometimes, especially if you have big hands. Chews through brake pads pretty fast Not very good performance in snow/icy conditions, but this is a given for a tiny, front wheel drive car
