Used Nissan Altima for Sale in Benton Harbor, MI

My particular 1998 Nissan Altima GXE, in many ways, is yet another in a long line of reliable, affordable, high mpg vehicles from the Land of the Rising Sun. With a 2.5L engine, this 150hp sedan boasts a 24 city and 31 highway mpg, amazing for its time and still highly competitive even nearly two decades later. Make no mistake, this car is more than capable for the financially conscious who need a car, not for glamor or luxury, but purpose built to get to where you need to be. The car is on the smaller end of econo-sedans, but does well with ample trunk space and one fold down rear seat for more longer types of cargo.

I would describe the car as basic. It has some issues but all-in-all no major repairs have been necessary in the 6 years that I have owned it. It is comfortable to drive for the most part, gets good gas mileage, starts when I need it to, and has never broken down on the side of the road. The car is reliable, but not particularly peppy. The acceleration is rather poor, it doesn't have the best traction in wet or snowy conditions, and it can be rather noisy at high speeds. Also, for some reason when idling, it makes a growling sound. I don't know what causes it, but once I put it in park it stops. I should have that issue looked at, but it isn't a pressing issue and the car has been reliable that I'm not too concerned about getting this one issue looked at. I would say if you are looking for an affordable car, that is reliable and dependable then this is a good car to buy. It will not turn any heads in the parking lot, nor will it blow any doors off at a red light, but it will get you from point A to point B without causing any major headaches. Also, it is a rather comfortable car to drive, so all-in-all I'd recommend it.
