Generally good truck with major engineering flaw
For a mid-size truck, the 2007 Nissan Frontier has adequate power. The strong engine makes getting up to speed off an on-ramp a fun experience. The Frontier offers a generally smooth ride and is a good option for longer commutes. The 6' bed model offers tons of space to haul your gear, but tack that onto a quad cab and you're starting to get a long truck that can be unwieldy to handle in tight parking lots. For the most part the Frontier has been a good truck and fun to drive BUT Nissan created a major problem with their radiator/transmission relationship that will destroy the transmission. For many Frontiers the radiator fluid leaked into the transmission which, if you have any familiarity with transmissions you'll understand, is a terrible thing and will ultimately lead to a new or rebuilt transmission for you. Nissan is aware of the issue and offered extended warranties for the problem. Unfortunately in my situation, the problem manifested itself 11,000 miles past the warranty date leaving me with the bill. Once the transmission was rebuilt and a new radiator put in, the truck has been running great.
