I bought my car three years ago used, had to do the basic, new brakes, rotors and tires. It has had issues in 3 yrs. but what do expect when you purchase a used vehicle with 150,000 miles already on it. I see it has had some issues as the car is 18 yrs. old and things get old. Overall, it is a very comfortable, for the driver, my interior is cloth and amazingly no rips, tears, stains. I always get compliments on the vehicle, from older and younger generation. I do wish I could have purchased the vehicle when it was new or newer. In the year 2000, I'm certain this was the car to have, well sought out. It does however, have some interior noise, possibly from the trunk latch, I was rear ended a year and a half ago, through no fault of my own. I really have nothing ill to say about the car... (more)
Story
Being stopped at a traffic light and people giving me thumbs up, even will tell me they love the car.
Pros
Sporty looking and love the "lay in your lap tilt steering wheel". Handles and drives well, hugs the road.
Cons
Engine has a lifter tap noise I've been trying to quiet down. It's not a rod knock. Also Pontiac stopped making cars, so I wont ever be able to find a new Grand Am.

The car still works after 17 years and 180,000 miles. Overall, I am satisfied with the vehicle. It is still very reliable with maybe 2/3 minor issues per year. The style of the car has allowed it to remain modern to date. It has enough room to comfortably seat five passengers without being a large vehicle.
Story
I have traveled up and down the East Coast with the car without any problems and can rely on it as a daily driver (four-hour commutes) and for long-distance vacations!
Pros
The vehicle is very reliable even after sitting for up to three months at a time. It has decent gas mileage, and parts are easy to find and replace. The interior has held up quite well for 17 years.
Cons
There are always minor issues. Brake disks warp easily, radiator hoses leak, window motors occasionally don't work, plastic interior components are beginning to crack, the transmission shifts hard during hard acceleration, the gas gauge can sometimes malfunctions, and the bottom rusts very easily.
