I've owned my Pontiac 2002 Vibe for over a decade and have made frequent use of it. It is a sturdy car and has stood the test of time over the 13 years I have driven it. In many ways, its a typical hatch-back vehicle. It won't win any awards for speed and handling, and there are nicer vehicles on the road, but for the type of vehicle it is, it has a nice aesthetic, particularly on the inside. As to its functioning, it is able to take a lot of abuse, and its ability to continue functioning, despite less than adequate care on my part is admirable. I am notorious for not regularly changing the oil, getting tune-ups, and letting the brakes go for far too long and yet I have never had a significant malfunction of its basic systems and only ever to enact one costly repair. Though the years a... (more)
Story
During a particularly heavy downpour, a section of street was flooded, though to look at it, you would not be able to discern how much. Deciding that it was not deep enough to pose a problem, a friend of mine and I decided to steer the vibe through the "puddle". The depth however, was enough to submerge the Vibe past its windows and windshield. After a moment of panic, and near stall, I shifte... (more)
Pros
I enjoy the fact that it is a tough vehicle and can take a beating and still keep going. It takes a lot of the abuse I dish out and keeps functioning despite its age, mileage, and my lack of proper maintenance. I don't have may additional features on it, but most of its basic features still function properly to this day. The inside aesthetic of the car was something I always enjoyed, especially the dash board, with its circular, silver rimmed dials and gauges making it look more old-fashioned that it actually was. In addition, the presence of a moon roof was enjoyable during clear evenings... (more)
Cons
The car had few major issues, though the tires seemed to need replacing more often than seemed normal. In addition, the headlights seemed to burn out faster than normal as well. The front hood latch rusted over fairly thoroughly, resulting in a terrifying experience with the hood flying up and smashing the windshield, which subsequently needed to be replace. The gaskets also wore out quickly and the model I got without added features only had a CD player at a time when mp3 players and their presence in the car were quickly gaining ground.

I bought my car used after my other car was totaled. It wasn't my dream car by any means, but I was excited to have *a* car at that point. That being said, I was happy with my purchase. Even at 200k+ miles, it still performs well. It may be badged as a Pontiac, but it's practically a Toyota which are known for longevity and durability. I bought the 6-speed manual which is pretty peppy. I'm still able to get around 30mpg driving mostly highway which is nice for my 60 mile roundtrip commute to work. It's starting to show its age now that it's nearly 15 years old, but I'm planning on keeping it until it dies.
Story
My son loves driving around in the summer with all the windows (and moon roof) open. He also enjoys being thrown around as I take roundabouts at a quick pace. (For a "grocery getter", it still handles pretty well!!)
Pros
The 6-speed manual transmission was a new perk for me that makes it fun to drive. The hatchback with the folding seats allows me to haul long and/or bulky things, including eight bags of dirt/compost and several 8' long 2"x4" boards inside the cabin - something my previous Civic couldn't do. It was a great help when moving into our first house. Also, everything's put together well, allowing my "shade tree mechanic" husband to do a lot of the work it has needed (i.e. parts in the engine bay are accessible, etc.)
Cons
The upholstery has seemed to wear more and be less durable than other used vehicles I've had. In fact, there seems to be a lot more wear in general like paint peeling/flaking around radio head unit, worn steering wheel, etc. I purchased my car used, so it could just be excessive wear/damage from the previous owner.

I like GM cars and the salesman at Art Moran were very reasonable, friendly, and helpful. My family has bought cars from Art Moran for approximately 15 years and they have always helped us pick the right vehicles and with any problems we have had with the vehicles. They gave us reasonable prices when we traded in our old vehicles and was always honest with us.

I wouldn't say this dealership was 'the best'. I went there because they had a car I wanted, not because I liked them. They were okay, though. Decent service, decent people, the car seems decent (bought it used). It was alright overall.
