Subaru Legacy Owner Ratings & Reviews

2000 Subaru Legacy - Subaru is the BEST!
The awesome all wheel drive beast. AWD asymmetrical with power equally distributed to each wheel. Very easy car to work on yourself. I take my Subaru up to the mountain passes here in the pacific northwest without having to put on chains during the winter.
Story
I remember going skiing, in the parking lot there were trucks and jeeps that was having trouble and here comes my subaru plowing away. Probably because of low center of gravity advantage over the big trucks.
Pros
Asymmetrical all wheel drive
Easy to work on
Parts are not expensive
Runs great, even with high mileage
All year 'round fun
Great gas mileage
Cons
Only negative is if you have one flat tire then you have to replace all four.
2010 Subaru Legacy - Best I've owned
The Subaru Legacy GT was, by far, my favorite car that I owned. It looked sharp, handled well, and had almost all of the "bells and whistles" that I prefer in a vehicle. This also the only vehicle I've owned that both my husband and I enjoyed driving. It was able to give that tight cock-pit feeling that I like in vehicles, while still being comfortable for a 6'1 man. Quality was excellent on all of the materials.
Story
This vehicle was my first "treat" to myself. I got a very large promotion, and it was the first time that I could buy exactly what I wanted, with all of the options that I wanted. I will always have fond memories of this vehicle, and will probably purchase another one in the near future. I definitely regret trading it in!
Pros
It had very sharp exterior lines, and a very roomy interior. The back seat had enough leg room for adults. It handled well at high speeds, and was very responsive. The clutch was perfect for the amount of power the vehicle had. Lots of features for a relatively low price, and the leather was the softest of all vehicles I've owned--it was even better than the "luxury" brands I've owned.
Cons
The trunk opening was too small. The actual trunk was a decent size, but it took some maneuvering to get large objects, like a stroller, through the opening. The gas mileage was not very good, even for an all-wheel drive vehicle. Combine that with the premium fuel requirement, and I was spending a pretty penny on gas. The only other complaint was that a piece from the gear shifter came loose within the first year, and it would rattle very annoyingly. I eventually ended up purchasing an after-marked shifter to replace it.
