Subaru Outback Owner Ratings & Reviews

2010 Subaru Outback - Reliable, sturdy car
Though I was initially disappointed that the six-cylinder engine is not an option along with a manual transmission, I have had a great deal of fun getting to know the vehicle. I drive it around on a construction site, and it does great in all kinds of conditions. The four-wheel drive has had no problem getting through sandy or muddy conditions. The Outback has a high clearance for a wagon, making it a great adventure vehicle. The seats lay down nearly flat in the back. They are definitely flat enough for car camping or large cargo loads. I do wish it had more power when climbing up hills. All in all, it makes a great adventure rig or family vehicle.
Story
This has been an amazing camping vehicle. With a hitch on the back to carry camping gear, it has tons of space to sleep in the back. This has made camping trips and skiing trips a breeze. It gets around great on dirt roads, and we have been able to drive deep into the national forest and camp, even in the rainiest of conditions.
Pros
Lay down flat seats for cargo or car camping. Four-wheel drive functions great in snow and mud. Sturdy build, but light-weight vehicle. Lots of cargo space in the back. Standard racks on top.
Cons
Low power when climbing hills. Low clearance when entering/exiting vehicle.
2012 Subaru Outback - Solid and dependable
I love this car! It is such a smooth ride, holds quite a bit of cargo and my two kids comfortably. The roof racks are easy to use if we need additional space. The mileage is amazing, not to mention the stellar safety features of a Subaru that makes me feel secure every time I drive it.
Story
I was at the grocery store, and as I was walking to my car, the identical make, model and color pulled up beside me. Turns out he found his car the same way I did! Great minds think alike!
Pros
This car is just smooth and easy to drive, the mileage is great and the added dash features are nice because they tell you mpg and how long you have to go until you're on empty. All the extra Subaru safety features are a pro, and the air conditioner is so good that sometimes it's cooler in the car than the house.
Cons
Hard for me to change so of the headlights and taillights on my own. I have to take the car in to have the mechanic do that.
