2013 Subaru Outback 3.6L 6 cylinder. This is my first Subaru, and my first station wagon. This is the largest vehicle I have ever owned, but it handles pretty easily. Vehicle seems solidly built, so I feel safe driving. Powerful engine helps to keep up with city traffic, and handles off road driving well. Suspension also seems solid-as its has tolerated rough South Texas terrain pretty well. Being a 3.6 L 6 cylinder vehicle, it consumes more gas than I am used to, so I had to adjust to the added expense. Payments are also higher than I was used to, but this vehicle is the biggest, and has more features than anything I have previously owned. While it does have pretty good handling for a large car, especially a station wagon, the turns are pretty wide and took me biting a few curbs to ad... (more)
Story
I bought this vehicle right before my first archeology job. I took the vehicle to the job which was on a cattle ranch.
Pros
High Safety Ratings. High wheel clearance for off-road handing. All wheel drive for safety in bad weather and off-road. Plenty of space in trunk, back seats can lie down. Plenty of leg room in front and back. Adjustable seats allow for comfortable driving and good visibility. Sensors tell when low tire pressure. MPG monitor lets you know how your driving impacts gas consumption.
Cons
Gas consumption is higher than I am used to and some of the electric features not that user friendly.

This is the second Subaru I've owned, and I have loved them both. I used to live in Colorado where the all-time 4WD was more important than in the South.
Story
I have truly enjoyed going on long car trips with my kids around North Texas. It is a comfortable ride for sightseeing.
Pros
I really love the all-time 4WD. It helps even in mildly bad weather. The reason I purchased this vehicle compared to similarly sized vehicles in my price range was because the back seat is wide enough to put a car seat and two adults comfortably. Since my purchase, I have had the frequent need to put three car seats across the back seat, and the Outback has accommodated that need. There is enough room to fit five people as well as ample trunk space. In addition, I have been able to haul relatively large items by laying down the back seat.
Cons
The only major malfunction I have had with the Outback is that every year (approximately) I have to replace the battery. I have read on forums where other owners have had this problem as well. The salesperson told me when I purchased the vehicle that some people are not fond of the continuous variable transmission. I have found that it makes a whirring sound but is otherwise not a problem.

The staff are the best. They aren't salesmen and do not pitch you any scam or deal. They are upfront, honest, nice, non-pressuring and really great to work with. While they may not be able to move much on price, the fact that you get a no-hassle experience from a real human being makes the price compromise well worth it. Plus, you always get free car washes at any Sewell location, which is a great plus. They are very customer service minded and this is what makes Sewell stand out among the best.
