My Subaru is new to me, but so far it's exactly what I want. It gets over 30 miles per gallon highway which is one of the reasons that I bought it. I love the look of it. We had a problem deciding between the dark gray and the green but the green color won in the end. We didn't get the leather interior but went with cloth instead. I love the style and the way it handles on the road.
Story
We were driving by a garage sale and saw a patio table that this person was giving away for free. My husband said I could have it if it would fit in the back of our new Subaru. It was a tough fit and the back wouldn't close, but I have that table on my back deck today.
Pros
This model came with the EyeSight option which turned out to be great. It's not something that we were especially looking for, but it came with the car we chose. Whenever you wander over the center or right line, it beeps at you to notify you that you're leaving your lane. It also tells you when you go to pass someone that there is a car in your blind spot. The gas mileage, style, and color are the best parts of this vehicle.
Cons
This vehicle doesn't offer leather interior without getting a lot of other options like moonroof which increases the price a lot. The green exterior only comes with a very light interior which isn't very practical.

2000 Subaru Outback - Very reliable vehicle.

I have had this car for about 2 years now, and it is, far and away, the best car that I have ever owned. Since I live in the North, we can get some pretty brutal winters, but no matter what Mother Nature throws at me, the Outback can go right through it. I've replaced brakes, exhaust and the alternator. Even at fifteen years old, it's still in great shape. It has a few rust spots of course, but that's to be expected when you live in a place that salts the roads. Once, I used this car, to pull out a Honda of similar make. The torque was amazing. The Honda was hopelessly stuck, and the Subaru pulled it right out like it was nothing, It has a smooth ride, heated seats and mirrors, and an excellent sound system. Also, being a hatchback,, there's always plenty of room in the back for grocer... (more)
Story
We drove it all through the woods during the winter and wet months and never once got stuck.
Pros
It's all-wheel drive, it has an exceptional amount of space for hauling, and it handles great in the winter.
Cons
It can be a little pricey to have it repaired.
