This car is overall practical for daily driving and long trips, hot weather and cold.
Story
The memory was going through a construction zone in a major city. It had just started raining, and the windows were fogging. The defogger was just starting to work when the car in front suddenly stopped. The Subaru stopped just as quickly and narrowly avoided a collision. Good handling!
Pros
I like the all-wheel drive when winter comes in. We live in the midwest, and the weather can change rapidly. There are hills with traffic lights at the top, and I sometimes have to stop halfway up a hill. In the snow and wintery mix, there has been no difficulty in getting started uphill again when the light changes. Other cars can slide backward downhill. Not this one! It's our long-trip car because it is comfortable and holds all our gear plus dogs. The A/C works great in warm climates, even though the interior is dark. Also, I like the tight turning radius that makes parking easy.
Cons
The middle console is not well designed. It's crowded, and we frequently bump into things we placed there when shifting gears. It's an older car, and we've had to do some repair. The most unusual was with the steering where a joint wore out and made the wheels jerk when turning after operating at highway speed. When the weather is cold, the engine can race while coasting in gear, but that's only until the engine warms up. Afterward, it's fine.

My Subaru is new to me, but so far it's exactly what I want. It gets over 30 miles per gallon highway which is one of the reasons that I bought it. I love the look of it. We had a problem deciding between the dark gray and the green but the green color won in the end. We didn't get the leather interior but went with cloth instead. I love the style and the way it handles on the road.
Story
We were driving by a garage sale and saw a patio table that this person was giving away for free. My husband said I could have it if it would fit in the back of our new Subaru. It was a tough fit and the back wouldn't close, but I have that table on my back deck today.
Pros
This model came with the EyeSight option which turned out to be great. It's not something that we were especially looking for, but it came with the car we chose. Whenever you wander over the center or right line, it beeps at you to notify you that you're leaving your lane. It also tells you when you go to pass someone that there is a car in your blind spot. The gas mileage, style, and color are the best parts of this vehicle.
Cons
This vehicle doesn't offer leather interior without getting a lot of other options like moonroof which increases the price a lot. The green exterior only comes with a very light interior which isn't very practical.
