I love this car. I researched a variety of vehicles to fit our families needs and this was the best fit and has gone above and beyond. Not only does it drive well, and provide us with all the comforts that we need on the road, but its been a work horse for us, driving up and down the eastern seaboard, hauling stuff, being packed to the brim with camping gear, pets and family. Great in the snow for the bad storms we've had, awesome on rough roads and gravel. It handles very well in all road conditions, the interior has held up considering the abuse we've put it through, and I love how much I can pack into it. The roof rack and bike rack do help, but even with out those options the interior is great for a full vacation or road trip.
Story
When we parked it in the idea lot and came back to find it next to four more just like it. We knew it was popular but that was a hoot. We just stood back and used the unlock button on the keys to pick ours out of the bunch.
Pros
I fit our life well, with living in the city but loving getting out and traveling. We have dogs so having a car they could get into and out of well and would handle their dog hair and paws was a must. Plus camping, traveling and biking; we thought of all our activities. Add those to being in New York, and having a car that could handle snow was a must. Love the gas mileage and how safe it is and everyone I know who has one, loves it and has driving it forever. It was the right car for our needs.
Cons
I really have no complaints, it's been an excellent car.

The Outback is a great car for the money. While the 4 cylinder isn't the zippiest car in the world, it's enough for most families. The overall build of the car feels solid and safe, especially with the additional eyesight camera, which includes automatic breaking and lane assist. Overall, it's an easy reliable drive; I would recommend to anyone looking for a solid family car.
Story
First week we got the car and wanted to check out the AWD the sales guy had been bragging about, so I take the car into the forest and promptly get the car stuck driving over a log.
Pros
Feel like you get plenty of car for your money. Size makes it practical for families. Comfortable, easy driving. Styling on the premium is nice but not flashy. In-built roof rack. The AWD works pretty well when off roading.
Cons
Speakers are awful, it's not for music lovers. Can feel a little slow to accelerate. Fuel economy is ok, but not great. The trunk isn't as big as you think it is and you'll constantly be removing the shelf. The door of the front center console container sticks all of the time. The outback is raised to help with off road driving, but isn't high enough to drive over larger logs and rocks.

As someone who really doesn't deal with cars too often and thus has a limited knowledge the staff was fantastic with me. The salesman fielded any questions I had easily and without judgment, and helped me pick the best car for me and my budget. Would highly recommend them as my Outback is still chugging some years later, and it does great in the NY winter.
