2011 Subaru Outback - Great for a mom.
My 2011 Subaru Outback is one of the best cars I've owned. It handles well in wet and snowy conditions just as well as on drive pavement. The ride is smooth. Seats are comfortable for me as a 5'3" driver and my spouse who is over 6'. The rear seat has plenty of room for two adults to sit comfortably or three smaller adults (or middle school girls). I can easily fit all the groceries from my weekly trip in the back or load up the camping gear for a Girl Scout overnight. While this car is used most often for short daily commutes, it has also been used for longer vacation trips and it well suited for both. When I use this vehicle for driving with Uber I am often complimented by the riders for the fit, comfort, and smooth ride of the car as well as how nice it looks. A feature I wasn't awa... (more)
Story
When I first brought home this Outback my husband was driving a work provided vehicle. His vehicle was also a Subaru and nicknamed Subby by the company. My Outback gained then name Subby Deux and people who know us call it that when we go places.
Pros
The Subaru Outback is a great fit for the SUV lover who would like something a little smaller with better gas mileage. It was difficult for me to give up the SUV size but with this vehicle I still sit higher than a small car and have extra room. The hatchback storage is large and holds plenty.
Cons
I've only encountered two negatives so far with this vehicle. First, the heat does not blow very strong at the floor. It is not a temperature issue but rather a floor blower issue. Upon checking the web I found this is a common complaint about the vehicle The only other issue I've had is that at times the check engine light will light up following a fuel refill. This too is a common issue apparently and will reset after three trips if the gas cap is removed and then replaced.
2015 Subaru Outback - Good and safe.
My Outback has been good to me so far. I would definitely say I drive my Outback harder than any Outback on the road. I take it off-road, snow drifting, and racing. Even though it is the opposite of fast, it is still an enjoyable car to drive. The service and quality is top notch. The safety features are some of the most advanced in the industry, which gives me good peace of mind.
Story
I frequently bomb down gravel roads in Missouri at 70+ mph, and the AWD system as well as upgraded tires made it a blast.
Pros
The interior is really great. Leather heated seats and an attractive gauge cluster and trim are some of the standout qualities of this car. It has a "top of its class" safety rating and is equipped with eyesight which I adore. Adaptive cruise control is my absolute favorite. The powertrain seems solid as well.
Cons
It is slow. The 2.5 liter mated to a CVT is just about as slow as it gets. The suspension is good for off-road and gravel but is very floaty on the highway and when cutting through traffic. The steering seems like it can't stay centered either, which is a common problem.

2014 Subaru Forester - Roper Subaru
Patrick Stone, the sales person, was great. I (a middle aged woman) showed up to test drive the vehicle and he never once hinted around about whether or not my husband would be involved in the decision. He just answered my questions and assumed that I was the decision maker, which I was.

The salesman, Ron, was great at giving me the best price for the model I was interested in. There was no pressure in buying upgrades or haggling. I received a very fair value for my return and had a very positive experience at this dealership.
