This is a great practical car for someone in any stage of life. From being a broke college student to becoming a busy parent, this car has met all of my needs and has never let me down. Other than routine maintenance, I've never needed to spend money having my car serviced or repaired. After having put 200,000 miles on the car, it runs just as good as the day I bought it. It has also held up in all kinds of weather. I've felt comfortable driving this car in rain and snow, which isn't something I can say for previous cars. I've had the opportunity to buy a new car after 12 years of owning this one, but I have no desire to change cars because I still feel satisfied with this one.
Story
I was driving home from work in Maryland during a blizzard one time, and everyone was getting stuck in Ellicott City. There was a hill and no one could get through. My car got stuck, as well. By getting out and digging, I was able to slowly get through and reach my friends house, where I stayed the night. Most people had to abandon their cars. I was glad to not be stranded, but it ended up bei... (more)
Pros
This car is compact enough to feel and park like a small car, but it still feels roomy and easily seats five people. I'm also able to easily fit car seats in the back. The trunk has plenty of space, I'm even able to make large Home Depot trips and fit supplies in the trunk. I haven't had any issues with electronic components, everything has worked as it should for 12 years. It has always been reliable and cheap to own. It also gets great fuel economy.
Cons
The car is very light, and I've had issues getting up to speed while driving through very windy, uphill roads in the mountains. It doesn't have a ton of power. It's also a little annoying that the seat belt sensor goes off every time my dog jumps into the front seat. It's a weight sensor, it's not easy to turn off, and you can't turn it off without turning off the passenger side air bag.

I love this car. It was built to last, and it is noticeable. I know people always say how great Toyota cars are, and this is not an exception. I have only had this car for about a year, and I would not trade it in for another car if I never had to. It is the perfect size for a small family with plenty of room for a car seat and anything you need to tote around for the little children in your life. I have the automatic transmission, and the gear shifts are nice and seamless which help with a smooth ride, not to mention the great shocks and very reliable brakes. Before this, I had a 1997 Toyota which held up to anything, and I expect nothing less from this car. I appreciate that working on the car is virtually hassle free as most of the bolts are the same size, and the parts are cheap an... (more)
Story
I received this car from my uncle, and the most fun I had was when I was driving it home by myself late at night. I could really test out the car, including acceleration and brakes.
Pros
Smooth ride, large trunk, car seat hooks, easy to use radio two-part center console, good-sized drink holders, cheap parts, easy to find parts, plenty of leg room, drawer on the left side of the steering wheel, two compartments under the radio for your phone and change, smooth gear changes, compact, gas warning light, and fabric seats.
Cons
No AUX adapter, small gas tank, poor acceleration, cigarette lighter in the bottom of the arm rest, not the best gas mileage no Bluetooth, seats are narrow, everything is somewhat plastic-y, small glove box, rust protection is not very good, trim isn't secured very well, the front lights come from the rear-view mirror no in-cabin lighting, 14 seat belts are rough on the edges, and the seat belt heights are adjustable.

They had the used car I wanted at the price and mileage I wanted. I did not seek out the dealership specifically. the car I wanted was advertised on a web site that pulls together cars for sale in the area from different sites. Once I got to the dealership to see the car the sales person was very nice and helpful, not pushy, but he new he had made the sale after I test drove the car so it was an easy sale for him.

I really appreciated the dealership having inventory and special online prices on their website along with current deals they were running. This allowed me to narrow down exactly what car I wanted before entering the dealership at a lower price than is listed on the car. This really sped up the process. The representative we worked with was very friendly and helpful, my only complaint is how long it took to complete the paperwork...Several hours!!
