My vehicle has been extremely reliable in terms of it not breaking down. I've had two flats in eight years of owning the car, but nothing majorly wrong with mechanics. Overall, the car has lasted and is continuing to last with little maintenance required year-round.
Story
Two months ago I drove to the beach in Mississippi (one-hour drive) with my girlfriend to go meet and buddy, and we had a fantastic time playing on the beach in the water.
Pros
Mileage is great, especially highway mileage which amounts to 25 miles/gallon. The lightweight frame allows for the car to accelerate quickly and smoothly. The mirrors and mirror adjustment switches are perfect to get your mirrors at the exact angle you want or need. The material of the upholstery is amazing as stains don't stick if you clean them right away.
Cons
My vehicle sits too low to the ground because anytime I go to drive my girlfriend's or friends' cars I can't get used to the elevation off the ground and it messes up my parking. Shifter has no cushion, is very hard. Just about every Corolla of this model has airbag recalls and the paint chips rather easily. My headlights aren't bright at all.. When I turn my brights on, it's the brightness my regular light should be.

While owning a 1991 Toyota Corolla might be a good purchase for some, individual customers should carefully weigh the pros and cons of owning one. If fancy bells and whistles are what get your attention, you’re better off looking for a newer vehicle. If gas mileage and reliability are primary concerns in your purchase for an automobile, it’s hard to top the Corolla’s reputation. It’s a car that will get you from point A to point B without breaking the bank. There’s nothing flashy; nothing about the car will immediately knock your socks off. The four-cylinder engine is dependable but lacks the power of bigger and stronger cars. The overall appearance of the vehicle is lackluster and not the kind of car a customer would write home about. It’s an ideal purchase for low income families, st... (more)
Story
I used to love to drive my Corolla on road trips to my home town. This was a six hour drive and my car always handled it like a pro.
Pros
While a simple car, my Toyota Corolla has been the most dependable vehicle I’ve ever owned. It doesn’t require much maintenance. When maintenance is required, the parts are usually inexpensive and easy for a do it yourselfer to replace. The price on this older car is great and the insurance doesn’t cost an arm and a leg either. The air conditioner runs cold and the engine is strong. In the winter, I am glad to have a heater that produces warm temperatures quickly to help thaw the car and the driver both. I love the peace of mind I experience when I’m driving my car. The Corolla is supremel... (more)
Cons
Being an older car, there are several cons associated with ownership. Many repairs need to be done in order to keep it performing well. These repair and maintenance visits can become costly as the vehicle ages further. While having a four-cylinder vehicle might be great for gas mileage, one really notices the lack of power when the car is on the interstate or a steep incline. Its appearance is a turn off for many customers with its boxy design. It lacks many of the luxuries and comforts of a modern vehicle. The electrical system is very rudimentary, lacking many of the features one needs o... (more)

The salesman was very attentive and made sure I got exactly what I wanted. The listing for the car I really wanted said it was manual and I left… then I got a call back saying the car was automatic, which was great. Went back and purchased the car.

Ray Brandt toyota is a great car dealership because the guy who was selling me my car didn't pressure me to hurry up and make a decision or get annoyed when i was in decisive between to cars. Anytime i need service the company is able to handle the service - new battery, new tire, new water pump and they are pretty much very nice.
