Reliable Transportation
With mileage up to 32 city / 41 highway the 2006 Toyota Corolla is a great pick for an attractive, reliable four-door sedan that gets great gas mileage and without sacrificing looks, features and style. Interior of the car is nicely finished with cloth seats, full carpeting, matching headliner, wood-like trim on the console and instrument panel, and a great quad-speaker sound system that includes a CD player and AM/FM radio. There also are a number of interior overhead/map lights which can be operated independently for driver/passenger ease of use. As with many earlier model Toyotas, running costs are very low and build quality is very high, especially if your able to find a vehicle that was manufactured in Toyota's Ontario, Canada Plant. The 2006 Toyota Corolla was available in a number of configurations including a manual and automatic transmission. Paint colors tended to be conservative though many metallic finishes were available with matching/complementary interiors. This was the last model year before Toyota started installing its electronic TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) which also makes this model more trouble-free and cheaper to run. No more worries about re-calibrating the system or replacing expensive valve stems.

Reliable, blind spots
I like its color, that is its a Toyota so it is reliable. It has enough power, but not so much as to waste fuel in my opinion. It handles well and is fun to drive. It looks very classy as well- very stylish look for the price. The gas mileage is excellent: I'm currently getting 34.5MPG without doing much highway driving.

Good enough for what I need
Overall I am satisfied with the vehicle. It has 150,000+ miles on it but is still running and maintenance costs are very low. The fuel economy still seems to very good after all these years. The seats are very comfortable for me, however my taller friends (6'+) can never get enough space for their legs, especially when there are people in the backseat.
Its performance is nothing special. The car sounds like its working very hard if you go 50+ mph, which does make me feel a bit nervous and I end up driving slow in order to not strain it.
However, it does its job. It will take you where you need to go and it was very cheap to buy and maintain over all these years. Definitely recommend it if you're on a budget or you don't really care to have a flashy car.
