The 2004 Toyota Highlander is the first SUV my family has purchased, and it's an excellent introduction to the world of sport utility. The cargo area is ample, giving us enough room in the back for a stroller plus a full week of groceries. The backseat offers plenty of space for two car seats, plus a third person, without being cramped. This SUV offers a traction mode, which is great for providing extra stability when driving in icy conditions, something we frequently face in Midwestern winters. The height of the vehicle is perfect for feeling like you’re in control of the road, unlike the feeling you get from driving in a lower sedan. The Toyota Highlander is consistently ranked among the best options for used vehicles by Consumer Reports, giving it an excellent resale value and promising an easy maintenance experience. We’ve had the car for about a year now, and have only had to take it into the shop for regular oil changes and tune-ups. When we purchased our Toyota Highlander, it already had 130,000+ miles on the odometer, but we fully expect it to perform well for many more miles, as long as we continue to maintain it regularly. I’m very pleased with this purchase, and would shop for another Highlander when we are ready for our next vehicle.
