2015 Toyota Prius - 2015 Toyota Prius review
The car gets excellent gas mileage. It's not really designed for a hectic, growing family, however. There's no hitch on the back, so I couldn't take myself and my kids to the lake to go boating. And going to visit their Nana and PopPop was difficult because there is virtually no trunk. Also, the car seems to have difficulty in elevation when going from driving below sea level to the Appalachian mountains. But for having to drive in the city you live in, it's ideal.
Story
My husband and I got takeout the second night I had the car and drove down to the boat landing to have a food fight. We decided that our bratlings were not going to be the first ones to spill food in there.
Pros
The way it handles in congested traffic. The strength of the air conditioning. Gas mileage. Size of the cup holders. How loud the horn is. How easy the interior is to clean. The speakers work very well. The maintenance is relatively low key and inexpensive unless something major happens. I feel like I'm doing something right for the environment by driving it instead of a big gas guzzler.
Cons
There's no hitch, so we had a really difficult time getting our boat to the lake. The lack of a trunk wasn't just difficult when it came to traveling. Buying groceries for a family of five was extremely hard. There also is a lack of head room and leg room for anyone over 6'3". The car handles horribly in the mountains, and not just for me. Last, the front seats are very thin, so when your demon children start kicking them, you feel every last inch.
2015 Toyota Prius - Great car!
I leased the Prius hoping for great gas mileage. I did get terrific mileage, averaging 54mog, but the ride, room, and comfort surprised me. This little car rides like a much bigger car. It handles beautifully. It's smooth, responsive, and lots of fun to drive. I'm not a small person, and I felt very comfortable in the Prius. The seat, leg, and headroom were more than adequate for my husband's six foot frame and long legs. The real surprise came when we went to the local garden center. We needed 12 bags of mulch and we're sure we'd have to make two separate trips. We folded down the rear seats and began loading bag after bag of mulch. Not only did the 12 bags fit easily, but we could have fit in a few more. This little car had more room in the rear than my much larger sedans trunk! In t... (more)
Story
Pulling out of the gas station after spending $5 to fill up! Every time I gassed up I was thrilled with what it cost me. It became a game, how much will it cost? How many gallons did I use that week? Can I do better next week? Actually, I only had to fill it every two or three weeks. The mileage was that good.
Pros
Mileage. Comfort. Looks. Ride. Handling.
Cons
I can't think of a thing.
