Dependable vehicle for family of four
This is the second RAV4 that we have owned and was so pleased with our older model that upon expiration of the lease, we purchased the 2012 model. For a family of four with two children under eight, our kids have grown up in both vehicles. It has met our family's needs. It is a step above a "no frills" vehicle, though it provides a few extras, including a moon roof and Bluetooth, which have benefited us when we travel on pleasant weather days or need to play on demand content. Unlike newer models, the back door opens on a vertical hinge instead of the newer horizontal hinge. We actually prefer the look and the utility of the vertical hinge (feels less suburban or family-like). The vehicle is dependable, and we have had no issues after 100,000+ miles (except replacing tires). Now a dislike is that when the weather cools down, tire pressure indicator activates. In one instance, the spare tire activated this indicator. Also, the driver-side visor has broken and should be able to handle more usage. The Bluetooth technology is dated, and I would like to be able to more easily switch between devices. Sometimes we have to turn off the car to get a different device to connect. Also, it is lacking in features that are valuable to our family, including a rear-view camera. We have had no concerns with the braking, handling, and overall feel of driving the car. The rear is a little limited in space, and our daughter's bike barely fits inside.

Awesome and reliable vehicle.
The Toyota RAV4 XLE has been one of the best and most versatile cars I have owned. The interior has luxury accents like a leather trim, but the seats are made out of a fabric so I don't have to worry about ruining leather seats. One of my favorite aspects is the touch screen system that makes it easy to switch between music, navigation, and other apps. It is also easy to Bluetooth connect your phone and receive texts and calls through the speaker system. The car also comes with a rear bumper camera which makes backing up or parking a breeze. For a smaller mid-size SUV the RAV4 is very spacious with a large trunk and plenty of room on both seat rows. So far at around 23,000 miles I have yet to have any mechanical issues. The car drives very well on most all terrain. The RAV4 is stylish both inside and out. For an SUV the fuel economy is not bad - it costs a little less than $30 to fill the tank and just driving around the city and occasionally on the highway a full tank will last me a week and some. The only complaints I have are with the tires and the exterior materials. I have had to replace two of the factory-issued tires in the past year and I feel they are poorly made. I also feel as though some of the exterior materials are cheaply made and dent very easily. I lightly tapped a post backing my car up and it heavily dented the bumper, which seems to be made out of a very light and cheap plastic that could easily break. I have owned Toyota vehicles before and I have felt the same way about the exterior materials. One of my favorite things about the car is that it is a great mix of rugged practicality and luxurious comfort. Even though I often have my dog in the car and I carry horseback riding equipment in it all the time, it still always seems clean and neat.

Excellent value and quality
The 2015 Toyota RAV4 XLE has proven to be an excellent value for its cost. I love the responsiveness of the steering and the design of the dash. I've had no maintenance issues to complain about and find the features available more than sufficient for a non-luxury SUV. This is the second RAV4 I've owned. The previous was a 2011 Sport, and I find I like this year and model even better than the 2011. The handling is very smooth, and I appreciate the addition of a back-up camera. There is plenty of space for hauling various items, and the AWD responds excellently to snowy conditions. Overall, the vehicle exceeds the expectations of a similar-sized SUV at this price point.

The salesperson was very knowledgeable and not pushy.
The services department is prompt with appointment times and let me know of things that are in need of repair during normal oil change visits.
The parts department is helpful in letting us know what we are in need of, even if we don't get it from them.
