2007 Toyota Tundra - Reliable and durable vehicle.
The Tundra is a great all-around vehicle. It handles well and is fairly fuel efficient for its size, even being more than a decade old. It hauls heavy items with so much ease it is easy to forget you are hauling anything at all. Unlike many trucks, it has a great turn radius and is wide enough to not feel top heavy but still fit into the average parking spot.
Story
I was driving with some friends, and we saw a Ford F-250 with a horse trailer attached on the side of the road. I pulled over and tried to help them, but their vehicle was not repairable at our level. The Tundra was able to tow the truck and horse trailer into town (about 30 miles away) with a full cab and two people sitting in the bed of the truck. It didn't even struggle.
Pros
The Tundra has an amazing towing capacity and great fuel economy for its size and age. The bed of the truck is large enough to hold most anything you would need to haul on a regular basis and is very resistant to abuse. The cab of the truck is large enough to sit 5 full-grown adults comfortably. The interior, while simple, is nice and well thought out, including charging ports in the console to reach the back, cup holders and vents all around, with plenty of storage.
Cons
While things do not break often on the truck, when they do, it can be expensive. The replacement of my starter cost $1,700. Additionally, tires can be pricey for the truck due to the size. Also, the plastic truck and door handles can break in extreme cold but are relatively simple to replace.
2015 Toyota Tundra - Sporty, secure, and tough... that’s my Tundra!
The Tundra is attractive, safe, rugged and comes with an amazing warranty and maintenance plan. It’s a Toyota! It’s dependable and can pull a small house if need be! It is a very capable work truck as well as a truck that can bring your family where they need to go. Roomy is an understatement. It comes with fun features like a back window that powers down completely and Sirius XM radio.
Story
My brother in law drove his SUV into deep water. The road was flooded, and he needed help to get his vehicle out of the water. He walked to my house, soaking wet and very frustrated. My Toyota Tundra pulled his inoperable SUV out of the flooded street with no problem.
Pros
Spaciousness (rear seating area) is unbelievable. Three six-foot tall men can fit comfortably. Power is not a problem; it’s ample. It’s backed by the Toyota warranty. It’s stable and responsive in all types of weather including NY winters. I enjoy the four-wheel drive when needed. It comes with a durable bed liner, easy to clean and nice to look at. The center console is huge. Seriously, this truck is spacious on so many levels. I enjoy the satellite radio, the rear window that powers up and down, and the smooth ride. It’s also very nice to look at.
Cons
The only negative thing I can think of is that I’ve had a problem with the touchscreen radio. It freezes at times.
