I really enjoy how well the vehicle controls, it feels buttery smooth on the road. It's very affordable and well-made for the price you pay and is rather unique compared to other budget car options. The gas mileage is pretty decent as well. Due to the low cost of the car, you can find ones with little quality of life features you'd expect in a luxury vehicle. For example, I bought mine at a way lower cost then other vehicles in the area, but it came with heated leather seats, a killer sound system and a well working A/C.
Story
Me and my best friend went on a country-wide road trip in my Beetle. The journey started in Killeen, Texas, and we rode through the entire east cost sight seeing. We saw the White House, New York City, a beautiful mountain range in New Hampshire and ate at many different nice local joints. Then we made the whole trip back in one day in time for Christmas Eve (longest drive of our lives).
Pros
Low cost that makes it a perfect first car or just great for someone on a budget. A unique shape that will satisfy people who are looking for something different without breaking the bank. Cheap luxury features that give the car a feeling of quality and improve the driving experience. Gas mileage is average but still lower then most other cars. It's fairly dependable as well. I drove mine from Texas to Maine and back, and the car never even came close to giving me any trouble.
Cons
Comes standard with locking lug nuts on the tires that are supposed to keep you from getting the tires stolen but will most likely just result in you having a huge problem changing the tires. The gas mileage, while decent, isn't the best for such a small car. Speaking of that the cars size is small and storing much of anything in the back is quite a pain. Oil filters are special and cost a bit more since its a German car. This also means the car uses synthetic oil mainly which is a bit pricier.

2006 Volkswagen Beetle - Very cute.

We bought this Beetle new, proud of its diesel fuel mileage and its reputation for being a clean diesel engine. Now everybody knows that these TDI engines are not as clean as advertised, but we do like our bug! The Beetle is totally cute. It's totally fun to drive. It's like driving a go cart! I've driven it in the country and in the city, and I've appreciated its peppiness, speed, and feistiness. Even though it's small, I've felt safe in the Beetle. The Volkswagen dealer has been pretty good to us when we've had problems. Unfortunately, we've had several problems with the Beetle, including doors that are stuck, engine problems, etc. This may be due, however, to the fact that we don't drive the Beetle regularly, preferring to "keep it up" and not put so many miles on it. But the Beetle... (more)
Story
I had been following a pickup down a narrow two-lane road. We came to a four-way stop and unfortunately, he turned the way I would be turning, too. I floored the Beetle and zoomed around the truck right out of the turn. We laughed, wondering what the guy in the truck must have thought of my goofy driving. Dangerous. Don't try that at home.
Pros
40+ mpg, styling, cute factor, nice beige color, sweet handling like a go cart, fast and peppy on the open road, easy to drive in city, somebody will always want a Beetle! classic, great air conditioning, holds a surprising amount of cargo (without passengers) good handling, lasted a long time, not 100%, though.
Cons
Many bugs, including doors that stick and engine quirks, radio shorted out, AUX cord connector fell out, whole TDI con diesel is not really clean! Small cars are more dangerous vs. trucks and large cars.

I read about them online. He goes to a lot of car auctions in Texas and sometimes other states. Asked kind of what I was looking for, my top price, then once he scouts out a car before the auction starts he sends me pics and vids about it detailing what he sees. When you win the auction he just ships the car to wherever you live.

Very nice sales staff. They made me feel at home from the time I was greeted to the time I left. They were very helpful with any questions or concerns I had about the vehicles in their pre owned lot. I was very happy with the way they conduct business and would recommend Allen Honda to anyone and everyone for their car buying needs.
