I bought the model year 2000 Golf (kart) in late 1999. At first it was a fun little car to whip around in, but after about a month, I had to bring it back to the dealership to have it serviced for electrical problems. Still, I owned it for a total of five years before it had to be junkyard trash. By the fourth year of ownership, the part that the seatbelt plugs into lost its plastic casing, so passengers would plug the seatbelt into a mess of metal parts. Soon after that they all fell apart, leaving my passengers with no way to fasten their seatbelt. A MAJOR safety issue. This was the worst vehicle money can buy and I will never own a Volkswagen again. Horrible company, garbage vehicle.

The car we were most interested in was at an affiliated dealer, so they had it brought in for us to see. They worked with us to get the best trade in for our old car.
