2012 Volkswagen Passat - Passat a love confession
The 2012 Volkswagen Passat SE is a fairly great car for the amount of money they charge for it. The aesthetic appearance is high standard, despite the sticker price. The mechanics of the car that make it run are well made and give the car a stable, smooth ride. And the car is just downright enjoyable to drive. It takes corners with relative ease no matter the drivers experience level. The acceleration is decent also, which is preferable for passing slower drivers on the roads. And since the car is an absolute dream to drive, you'll practically find any excuse to take it out of the garage. The interior is made with fine craftsmanship. So the driving comfort is above average as well.
Story
Driving across country to visit the Yosemite in this ride was quite the experience. It was a multiple days long trip, with a lot of scenery. The car gave no signs of wear, despite the intensity of the trip. It gave me no issue and just let me focus on the trip.
Pros
The transmission shifted gears quickly and with extreme smoothness. The turning radius of the car is above average, typical for a German car and makes it a delight on the back roads. The sunroof is also another good perk, offering more style and function for a insignificant price increase. The speaker system is also high quality and can crank out some angelic sounding tunes, making the drive an even more enjoyable time.
Cons
The only downsides I can point out about this car would be that the gas mileage can be a tad better. But if you get the diesel model, it's an non-issue. Or the fact that the cost of maintenance is high, also due to it being a German brand, which are notorious for over charging for minor issues like oil changes.
2012 Volkswagen Passat - This car is a tank.
This car has been through a lot, despite it's relatively short age. In the few years I've driven this automobile I racked up nearly 200,000 miles on the odometer. I drove this car through many cities, mountains, and small towns in the southeastern region. Road trips, weekend vacations to the beach, and hiking trips, and I got to my destination by using this car.
Story
Whipping the car around the tight turns on the Blue Ridge Parkway was a good way to see the scenery, and enjoy driving.
Pros
It never had an mechanical issue since I've owned the car. The engine has ran fine after many routine oil changes. And I still haven't had to replace the transmission yet, despite the high mileage. Granted it could be in better cosmetic condition, it still runs well enough to use as a daily driver to work. It takes turns well, and is still as comfortable as any other car I've sat in. Not to mention the above average gas mileage.
Cons
My only complain about this car is that the electronics, and entertainment aspects are a little outdated. But that can mostly be attributed to the cars older age, and modern cars making consumers more demanding of higher technology.
