Useful. Reliable. Fun to drive.
The Chevrolet Silverado is, first and foremost, a pick-up truck. That being said, you have to accept the fact that the gas mileage is not going to be ideal for long trips. If you're just looking for a city commuter, it's probably not the car for you unless you don't care how much you spend on gas. However, the vehicle is unrivaled in its utility. Tons of storage space in the bed, great for work or play. I can't tell you how many times this has been a godsend when moving. The bed is big enough to fit a queen size mattress comfortable. However, it's also small enough to be able to maneuver fairly readily. The turn radius is not awesome; again, it's a pickup. If you live anywhere where conditions get rough i.e. snow, sleet, mud, etc., this is an excellent vehicle to own. I lived in a very snow heavy state for many years and never had trouble. Since the bed is lighter than the front, if you're not careful you will get some fish tailing on icy roads. For the most part, though, it handles excellently in rain, sleet, snow, whatever. Great for off-roading, can make it up back mountain road hills without any struggle. The cab could be bigger. Sometimes it's a pain to squeeze people into. Technically you can fit five, but it's really a squeeze and not very comfortable for the passengers. I haven't had any problems with interior rattles. However, after ten years, the seals on the windows aren't as tight as they used to be, which makes for a lot of noise when traveling at high speeds on the highway. Chevy brakes are inherently squeaky after a while.

Reliable and versatile.
My vehicle is a red 6.5 ft.-bed Chevy Silverado. In general, I like the vehicle and find it to be a very capable and reliable vehicle. The truck has strong acceleration which helps get heavy loads through traffic. I am proud to own it be able to operate it. I hope one day to use it to make money hauling small loads for people. I like that it has seating for six, as my entire family can ride in it. The air conditioning is great and keeps me cool year round. The bed is large enough for all of my projects. The load bearing capacity is plenty for me and my home projects. The four-wheel drive engages quickly. The four-wheel drive is not complicated to engage, and it can be completed in the cockpit of the vehicle. The recovery hooks are also useful for the occasional predicament that I get into. The on-board diagnostics works great and helps me figure out how to fix the truck. The fuel mileage is not good. The truck is used in the Midwest and is parked outside, thus rust is overtaking the vehicle. The starter had engagement trouble and had to be replaced, but I did not know it was the starter, and I coped with the problem for two years. The fan selector resistor broke on the truck and although replaced, the highest fan speed does not work. My wife has trouble climbing into the vehicle from the passenger side.
