Reliable
This car has been very reliable since I purchased it used in 2006. The only problems I've had with it are when the driver's side window stopped working, but it was covered under the warranty that was still good on the car. I also have had to have the starter replaced. Other than that, everything else has been regular maintenance like brakes, oil changes, transmission fluid flush, etc.
When I first got this car, I did not think that I would like it. I have only ever driven VWs in my life, and am a VW fan through and through. I got this car because I spent far too much money with shifty mechanics who would not fix the cooling issues in my old Passat.
I got this car under blue book value, got a good price on insurance, and paid this car off in two years even though I had a five year loan. This car has driven all the way up the eastern seaboard, has driven many miles for work, and I've never had issues.
When I first got it, it was a little hard to get used to how light it was, compared to any VW I've ever owned, and I was all over the road on the trip home from the dealer. I did get used to it, and I discovered that the lightness makes for much better gas mileage. I get just as good mileage in it as I did any VW. That's saying a lot. The ONLY concern I have with it is if I ever get in to a wreck. Because it is light, I am not so sure how protected I will be. Other than that, I'm sold on Kias now. They are not nearly as powerful as a VW, but that is a benefit because it keeps me from speeding...which is a problem that I have. I never thought a car maker could get me out of a VW, and it seems strange that a KIA could do that, but it can.

Kia Rio -- Great bang for the buck.
I purchased this car used on a whim because I needed a cheap A to B car. I was quickly surprised as to how zippy, yet tough this car actually was. It had good winter tires on it, and it was able to get through all the Michigan snow and slush that I demanded of it. The only thing that I would consider to be a con of this car is that it was a cheap car...lightweight doors, small...but, honestly, I think that's what Kia's are know for...low price and minimal frills.

This vehicle handles great and gets awesome gas mileage when using the ECO feature.
I like the compactness of the car. I am a smaller woman, and it makes maneuverability that much easier for me. It also allows me to see out of all of my windows easily. The car has an ECO feature that I love...being that I live in Alaska and you have to drive everywhere for a good deal of a distance. Once it has picked up the speeds, the car can remain at 37 to 42 miles per gallon.
