For a family that wants to save on gasoline consumption but still have the durability and usefulness of a pickup, I highly recommend giving a hybrid truck a serious look. As a young married couple with a new baby in the house we needed a vehicle that would provide the safety bubble around our child, as well as provide us with ability to take trips and excursions a young couple would take for fun. Understanding that the majority of my life in the city would be spent in traffic jams, the fact that this hybrid truck shuts the gas engine down and moves the transmission to the hybrid battery is very comforting knowing that my time moving slowly through traffic would not be eating through my gas budget. Spacious and durable, I was able to take it on several long distance trips to other states with plenty of gear that did not need to be placed on the roof. Well built, in six years with regular maintenance I have yet to have a major engine problem. The "Economy" gauge on the dash allows me a visual reminder to adjust my driving habits in the moment, if my gas efficiency is foremost in mind.

I like how high the truck sits compared to older trucks. The new makeover feels tough and strong. The interior seats are roomy and spacious. The V8 engine has great hauling potential and get up and go. The larger tires can make the truck go off-road with 4x4 if needed. The back has enough seating for three with rear side doors. The back can fit a multitude of stuff from lumber, concrete, fishing gear or whatever needs to be put back there. Built strong and tough, the exterior looks great and feels like driving a modern vehicle.

I purchased my Chevy in 2015 when I was looking for a new truck. I had been without a truck for some time after selling my old one. I opted for the full-size 8-foot bed, partly because I had missed the ability to transport things when I had no truck. I wish I would have gotten the smaller bed for ease of parking and driving, but it is very nice none the less. The comfort and drive are great. Hybrid helps with the gas mileage and helps me feel better about the footprint I am leaving behind without sacrificing the larger vehicle I need.
