2006 Chevy Tahoe is a great vehicle!
We purchased our 2006 Chevy Tahoe three years ago. At the time of purchase it had 220,000 miles on it. Those kind of miles may scare a lot of people away from a purchase, but we chanced it. Let me tell you it was one of the best choices we have ever made. We have take numerous long trips in it from central Missouri to Florida and Colorado. The truck has always performed perfectly never leaving us stranded. All the seats are comfortable and can seat a large family. When we first purchased it, we took it to our local shop to rebuild the front end and put new tires on it. We have had to get out in the snow on two different occasions and the truck's four-wheel drive performed perfectly getting us to and from our destination. We also love to take it to our towns drive-in movie theater where we take out the back seat and inflate a air bed for the kids to lay down while they watch the movie. I would say for as big of a vehicle that it is it does get fair gas mileage. The best we ever got was 23 miles per gallon on one of our Florida trips. On those long trips your kids will be thankful do to all the extra leg room both back seats have. They are large enough for an adult to even sit in the back while being plenty comfortable.

Chevy Tahoe. A car for life
The 2006 Chevy Tahoe was my dream vehicle. I wanted a Tahoe so badly but for all the wrong reasons. We were able to get a used one within our cash budget, and I was so excited. It had the third-row seating that was required for our family of seven. It held us all comfortably as we had two teenagers, two preteens and one young child. It had bucket seats for the second row, which was something I had always wanted. While it was a little higher in mileage then I would have liked, the Tahoe can virtually run forever with little maintenance. It is a large vehicle, can withstand rough terrain with few issues, and it something I would consider buying again depending on my future lifestyle. While there is wear and tear on the body, just amounts to dents and dings because it is hard to do much more damage then that on a daily basis. The inside does show wear from the 12 years of use and because of the last four years of having all those kids on road trips around the country. Almost all of those issues, however, are cosmetic, and I am totally okay with that. Just now, there is starting to be a few electrical issues but because of the popularity of the vehicle, most issues can be you tubed and fixed without hiring anyone to help.
