We purchased a 2000 Audi A4, many years ago just to have a 4 cylinder in the family. The Audi was probably the worst car we have ever purchased and gave us the worse experience of any car we've ever purchased. The car seems like it has a lot to promise, but it really promised us nothing but expensive repairs, break downs, and wasted time. As long as we owned the car, it sit parked in the garage not running for more time than it spent running as we owned it over the years. The car has beautiful leather interior with a fancy high-tech dash, a decently powered engine, but little to show for when it comes to reliability. Reliability is what makes or breaks a vehicle in my books, if you can't count on it, you can't drive it. The Audi is more of something I would describe for looks and show, rather for driving and getting from point a to point b.

The style of the car is very cool; it has a comfortable and spacious interior and the seats easily adjust forward, back, up, and down. The trunk is very spacious; at one point, all 4 wheels/tires were able to fit in it at once. The mileage is about 25 mpg. The downside is that the cost of ownership is slightly higher than I would like. It takes a more expensive type of gas and burns through oil quickly, so the oil needs to be changed frequently. It has been in the shop only once for something other than regular maintenance. There was a problem with the breaks that was covered by warranty. Those costs are really the only down side; it is easy to drive. The acceleration, handling, and breaking are all great for driving on highways and feels very safe.
