Excellent service, everyone there is very helpful and kind. I have never received unkind or impatient attention there. A lot of people know me now on a first name basis just from seeing me in their auto shop, etc.

Olathe, KS Driving Tips
Avoid distracted driving. Traffic moves quickly so it is wise to be 100% focused and keeping up with the average speed of traffic.
Olathe, KS Buying Tips
There are a plethora of car dealerships in the area. Right along I 35 one will find nearly every brand of car or motorcycle dealership. There are multiples of the same brand dealerships throughout the metro so make sure you shop around a bit. Fuel efficiency will be one of the major aspects that you will take into account when deciding on which vehicle to purchase.
Favorite driving memory
My favorite memories from driving in Olathe are when new road projects or bridges are completed. It is very exciting that the city keeps up with the rapid population growth and designs the roads and bridges with enough capacity while adding aesthetic features that feel welcoming. I still remember the day when they opened the new 127th street overpass over I 35. I was one of the first to drive over the new 6 lane bridge that alleviated east/west traffic. It cut my commute time drastically.
Favorite road
I 35 & I 435. Both of these interstate freeways converge just to the north of Olathe. Both freeways are very wide and carry a heavy traffic load at a very high speed. KDOT has done a wonderful job over the years keeping up with the population growth of the metro by adding numerous lanes and really cool flyover ramps around the interchanges. Taking the flyover ramps, which are pretty high, from I 435 to I 35 is always a neat experience as it offers great views and perspectives of the moving high speed traffic below. There is something relaxing about being able to merge at a high speed from one highway to another feeling like there is plenty of lane space.

Olathe, KS Driving Tips
Please use your turn signals. A lot of people around here don't, and it makes driving difficult. Also, watch out for drivers from Missouri. I know that sounds rude, but seriously most of the near accidents I see, lack of blinkers, unnecessarily slow drivers and inattentive driving I see has Missouri plates.
Olathe, KS Buying Tips
Craig's list has not wielded great results for me, as I got a lemon and have not found anything very great since then. Then again, I was only searching desperately cheap cars at the time. I am planning to use either Car Smart or CarMax to purchase a car, as they seem to be flexible and useful for what I need.
Favorite driving memory
There was a day recently where most of the city (and surrounding areas) shut down for the Kansas City Royals parade after their World Series win. Around 800,000 people attended the parade. I could not go, but the driving I did around town on that day was the smoothest and most amazing trip I've ever had thanks to the lack of traffic. I hate traffic and watching out for other drivers, so it was a rare stress free drive for me.
Favorite road
Quivira Road.. There are a lot of interesting places on Quivira, including the community college, a large mall, a golf course, several restaurants, highway exit/entrances, etc. You can find just about anything you need and most of the road is generally not bumper to bumper like many other areas around here.
