I bought this Chevy Cruze when I was driving 80 miles round trip to work. I bought this used with only 3800 miles on it, therefore it was practically new. I traded in an Envoy Denali due to the price of fuel at the time. I do like this car, but can see why it was traded in. Don't think you are stepping into a luxury car, you will be disappointed. But if you buy it thinking you are getting what you pay for, then you will not be disappointed. For a lower end of the Chevy models, I do think it is worth the price. The performance of the car is what you would expect for a 4 cylinder. As long as you can floor it, you'll get up to speed when merging. If you are running the A/C, then forget going anywhere unless you floor it. I have had quite a few recalls on this car, and at only 39000 miles,... (more)
Story
I hit a semi tire on the highway 35 going 80 mpg and it ripped off my molding on the drivers side door and moved the bumper cover a bit. I guess if that is all that happened, then I should be thankful! Guess the car can run just as good without it, right?
Pros
Fuel mileage is great at around 30 mpg, even with this lead foot. It actually has a lot of room in the trunk. Plenty of room for at least 2 bodies. Warm bodies that is. I love the blue color. The steering wheel totally adjusts to a favorite position. There is lots of room in the backseat as well. Probably not enough room for what you're thinking. The radio and other controls are awesome. So many option. The ride is somewhat smooth. Price to fix is cheap. Oil changes every 6000 miles. Love the economy mode when stopped to save gas. Cons
Power when you have the A/C running is a joke. The seats are rock hard. Have to have a cushion when I take road trips longer than an hour. The radio has so many options I don't know them all after 3 years of owning it. The cup holders are useless, they sit behind you in the console. And one of them gets covered up when you pull the console cover forward. Might as well use the ones in the backseat. Oh yeah, that's right, you'd have to have the middle arm rest down in the backseat to use them. Again, useless. This car has been a accident magnet, I guess that's not a con of the car itself. Do... The reason we purchased this vehicle was for the economical gas mileage. In that respect it fulfilled its objective. In every other way, however, this car was a big letdown. This was supposed to be Chevrolet's answer to higher gas guzzling vehicles but unless you are 5 feet tall and weigh only 100 pounds, this car will seem like a coffin when you are driving it....It is NOT made for tall or fat people.
Story
This story is memorable...Funny now...NOT funny then. Because this car does not have cruise control and because I have a tendency to lay heavy on the accelerator when I chatter away to my passengers in the car, I ended up getting stopped for speeding. Pros
The Cruze does get good gas mileage, I'll give it that. It is easy to park, maneuver through heavy traffic, and starts reliably. It was relatively inexpensive. Everything else works like it's supposed to. Those are the best things I can say about it.
Cons
Where to start...The car is small. Really. Small. If you are tall or overweight you will feel like you are levering yourself into a coffin on wheels when you get into the car. The seats are uncomfortable and don't adjust very well. The trunk can only be accessed by using the button on the fob...And if you happen to bump the trunk button on the fob squeezing yourself into the car and it pops the trunk, then you have to put the vehicle in park, pry yourself out of the vehicle, go shut the trunk, and squeeze back into the car before you can be on your way. The ease of purchasing a car at this dealership was top notch. The salesman was very friendly and helpful. They were straightforward in how they handle my car purchase, and spoke to me as though my shopping experience mattered to them.
